Show #1862 Week of December 16th 2021 Independent Show 339

Can it be?? We're in year 16 of The Giz Wiz Show! (The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006!) If it wasn't for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/

If you have a lot of gear, you have a lot of cables. Here's how to tame them!

I have wires running everywhere! When I get a new gadget it's easier to hook it up with a new cable than trace where the old cable went. That's why this Topbooc 126 piece Cord Management Organizer Kit should be a be help. (Assuming I get started using it!) This comprehensive kit includes everything to organize and manage your cables at the home or office. The kit includes 4 x Cable Management Sleeves, 10 x Cable Ties, 100 x Self Lock Wire Ties, 10 x Cable Clips, 2 x Self Adhesive Cable Tie Rolls. The included cable clips have self-adhesive sticky pads. So just peel and stick to any surface. If you have long cable runs, the about 19” sleeves can be joined end-to-end to make longer coverings. I paid less than $15.00 when I bought mine early December on Amazon.

The Giz Wiz Buys A Mystery Package! Is it worth the $24.99 he paid?

Each year I would buy a 'mystery box of crap' expecting to maybe getting something great. And the reason I expected that is a photo advertising the mystery box usually shows high end headphones and all sorts of expensive equipment. In the end you get a box of stuff that might be worth more than you paid, but you have no use for. This time I signed up for a “white elephant package”. I paid $20, plus $4.99 shipping. Instead of a box of crap, I received on single item. The Champion Laptop/Tablet Backpack with Thermal Pouch. Well, I was really disappointed! I don't need another backpack. Even though this one seemed well make had pockets for most everything and even an insulated pocket, I was further disappointed when I went to the 13 Deals Website where I bought the 'mystery package' to find them selling it for $19.99. So the mystery value was putting it in a white bag and charging a penny more? Oh well, I have a friend who I am sure can use a really decent backpack!

Family Fun For Holiday Gatherings.

Yeti in My Spaghetti is an award-winning, silly children's game which I'm sure adults will love too. And it's easy-to-play. Just place the plastic noodles (a.k.a spaghetti) across the top of the bowl and sit the included Yeti on top. Then players take turns removing the noodles one-by-one without letting Yeti fall! If you make Yeti fall, you lose! The game includes 30 Noodles, Yeti, Bowl, and Rules. For 2 or more players ages 4 and up. Amazon Exclusive: Bonus game play! --- I think that means you get a Die (single of dice?) so if you like, players can use that to determine how many noodles they have to remove in their turn. That's my guess, my game didn't come with one. About $15.00.

Chad's Third Gadget For His December Theme.

Chad's third 'Cheap Stocking Stuffer' is The Melting Snowman. First, some info from the company: Build a snowman from the comfort of the indoors with the Toysmith Melting Snowman. This entertaining kit uses soft putty to shape and decorate a snowman. At room temperature the snowman slowly melts into a puddle, without leaving a mess behind. The kit includes reusable melting putty, plus a hat, scarf, eyes nose and arms. The melting putty can be used to create a snowman up to 3-inches in height. The snowman makes a whimsical holiday decoration for a tabletop or desk. Easy to clean up. Leaves no moisture or mess behind.

And Chad's take?Chad said working with the melting putty feels exactly like it does when playing with Silly Putty. You see in the video that you do have to soften it before you can make your snowman. You'll also see the snowman made which I thought was pretty good. Then you'll see Chad decorate it with the accessories that are packed in the kit. Plus, Chad's stop motion lets you actually see The Melting Snowman melt! The kit is about $15 which Chad says it about the top price he thought it was worth.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.
-
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
-
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.
-
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
-
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you'll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it's a copy. We've tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you'll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

From Faye Williams – Subject: Fully automated vehicle trial in Australia

Hi Dick and Chad

I thought of you both last Friday, following Chad’s chat about automated vehicles. My family and I went on a trial of an automated bus, run by the RAC in Perth, Western Australia. It’s called the Intellibus and is a fully driverless vehicle - it doesn’t even have a steering wheel. We went on a 15 minute drive, on public roads, near the river in South Perth. I didn’t get chance to take a video, but took some photos for you and have attached a link to the RAC information on their website. Thought you might find it interesting!

All the best  Faye (aka Chilly Kitty)
