The Giz Wiz Show 1620 for April 28th 2017, Our 103rd Independent Production.

Thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters The Giz Wiz Show not only continues, but we're one show from the end of its 2nd year of independent production. If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/ You can also contribute just once via the PayPal link that's there too. And thank you for doing that! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support.

And now onto this week's show.

Do you throw batteries in drawers, or a box, or anyplace where they can touch each other. Watch this week's show to see what can happen when you do that. While browsing through Amazon, I found this gadget: No more searching for batteries in your junk drawers or cupboards - this Ohuhu® Battery Storage Case keeps all your spare batteries organized and easy to see. This Battery Organizer holds up to 72 batteries with a handy removable battery tester lets you quickly see if a battery still holds a charge. Also, its compact size allows you to hang it on a wall or slide it into a drawer or on a shelf for easy access. Never hunt through your clutter for batteries again with this Ohuhu® Battery Organizer! ---- That sounded good to me, so I bought one. I like it! And you might too. Watch this week's show to see it, or here's a direct link to the video we shot.

Putting the LectroFan Micro White Noise Machine To The Test!

The LectroFan Micro adds a lot of features if you're looking for white noise machine. This one is actually great for travel! It has a built in battery and Bluetooth! Charge the battery and the Micro can provide 10 UNIQUE SLEEP SOUNDS: 5 fan sounds, 4 white noises, and one ocean - for up to 16 hours. (It doesn't say which ocean, but I guess they all sound pretty much the same.) Pair it up with your Bluetooth device and you can stream your music through it for up to 8 hours. And your music will sound a heck of a lot better than your smart phone speaker, and probably better than your laptop speaker too. Listen to videos and movies playing on your computer through this device, even though this one is tiny. But wait there's more! Give a little twist and the built in speaker stands up so it can face the direction you want. For travel, twist it down and the Micro lives up to it's name, it's small. The price is good too. It's just about $35.00.

Add Remote Control To Many 12 Volt Plug-in Devices.

A fan emailed me to tell me a device that could add remote control to the Movie Marquee Sign I showed on the Giz Wiz recently, and even to the LED Kitchen Puck Lights I showed. The device is called (the Amazon long name:) Lwind RF mini monochromatic controller 11 key radio with dimming LED monochrome light dimmer FOR LED work light, LED flood light, LED off road light, LED light bar,LED light strip. This mini remote control device receiver mounts between the 12 V DC power supply and your device. On the two device I used it on, it was easy, taking about 10 seconds - plug and play. Amazon says: Voltage: 12 V DC, Current: 12000 mA. The receiver is tiny as you'll see in the video, so it should be easy to mount out of the way and out of sight. And it's inexpensive.

Chad's Crappy Corner & His Final "Magnetic Gadget!" - His Theme For April.

Chad polled our amazing Patreon members and asked them to vote on a theme for April. Their choice: “Cheap Magnetic Gadgets!” Chad's gadget for his final 'cheap magnetic gadget  is the Merchant Medley Magnetic Bottle, Jar and Can Holder for Refrigerator or Cabinet - Holds 6 Bottles or Cans - Organize and Create Tons of Space With a Sleek Look

Here's what Amazon says about it: Save time, space and headaches with these fridge and cupboard magnets! Keep your favorite bottles and cans high and provide more shelf space! The streamlined look will help give your kitchen a more satisfying feel! CONVENIENT: You won't have to reach through a crowded fridge to get to your favorite beverage! SIMPLE: Application to any surface is easy and durable! Chad paid $13.95.

And Chad's take: Chad liked these, and so did a lot of folks in the chatroom. Who knew you could hang bottles and cans in open, unused spaces in your refrigerator or cabinet. As you'll see in the video, Chad installed this in seconds and used it right away - even though you're supposed to wait 24 hours. And the magnets are strong! Chad hung a bottle of soda from each of them and they looked totally secure. These magnetic strips are pretty clever and useful. Chad was able to find good use for what was unusable space before in his refrigerator. You get two of them in the package, so maybe Chad will find good sue for the other one in a cabinet.

Dick's Gadget Warehouse & How to Submit Your Viewer Video.

This week's gadget warehouse video is a real gadget warehouse video. Here's the email we received with the link:

Hello Dick and Chad.

After watching your segment about the Worx drill last week, I thought you might be interested in Craftsman's take on the same concept but from over a decade ago.   I bought this drill around 2004 and it was already a clearance/discontinued model then.  And that's too bad as it worked really well.  Any ways, I hope you enjoy the video and sorry for the cats meowing in the background.

Thanks for all the great episodes.  I look forward to more in the future.

We’re looking for more Viewer Videos!

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

-

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video!

IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Letter of the week:

Email from: steph heroux

Hi, Guys i was listening episode 1617 and heard you talk about the laser bond, and wanted to share my experience with a similar product.

a few months ago i bought this on Wish for 5$ I was reading the manual, I don't know what was going on with me that day! and saw this warning: WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.

The stench of the product was so horrible, i immediately threw it in the garbage can hoping that the garbage man would not contract cancer.

I don't know if laser bond uses the same stuff, but my guess would be yes. Oh and by the way Wish sells Laser bond for 3$

I love you guys, you always put a smile on my face during my long commute.

Stephane
