It Cuts Cardboard, But Not Your Skin. (Well, it didn't cut mine.)

It's the Slice 10585 Manual Carton Cutter. I think this is pretty neat. Looks good, and it's so much safer than using one of those fearful box cutters. You'll see me try it on several packages in my video, but first here's what the company says about it. Slice safety blade’s unique cutting edge might seem dull, but it cuts right through your material while keeping you safe! Other blades are dangerously sharp. Slice blades start at a safe and effective sharpness and stay there 11 times longer. With an metal sheath and a reinforced nylon handle, this durable tool stands up to industrial use. Ideal for cutting boxboard, cardboard, tape, clamshell and flexible plastics. This slim carton cutter fits in your pocket or the palm of your hand, ready to use for common cutting tasks. Ships with a 10526 rounded-tip reversible utility blade. Each side lasts up to 11 times longer than a comparable steel edge. Pointed-tip 10528 utility blade available separately. Watch this week's show to see how well this works. I was impressed. And it's under $10. (I liked this so much after I bought one, I bought the dozen pack which drops the price to about $7.50 or so.)

Need More AC Outlets + More Charging Ports? This one adds USB-C charging.

A while back I did a similar gadget with one less AC plug and two less USB charging ports. This version adds the important USB-C charging. It's the weirdly named QINLIANF 5 Outlet Extender with 4 USB Charging Ports. Amazon + the Giz Wiz says it fits a duplex outlet perfectly, just plug in to use. You get 5 AC outlets with wide spaces in between for larger plugs, plus 4 USB charger ports. The screw at the middle can be used to secure it onto the wall of duplex outlet, so it stays connected when removing plugged in devices. Note: this works on duplex outlets only, other types of outlets like GFCI outlets cannot be secured onto the wall. For charging there's 4 USB ports with a total of 4.8 A. Each USB A port features 5V/2.4A Max output. USB C charging port features 5V/3A MAX. The company says built in smart technology, detecting charging devices and deliver optimal charging speed automatically. NOTE: The UCB-C port is not Quick Charger 3.0 and doesn't support any other devices which need 9~22V charging voltage. 3 level complementary Surge Protector Circuit with minimum 1680J energy absorbing capacity. The company adds: Our products are protected by $1000,000 connected equipment warranty. (Yes, there's a comma missing.) Was under $15.00 when I bought mine and it was still $14.98 on 8/27/21.

Chad's Crappy Corner & his final cheap "What The Heck Is It?" gadget for his August Theme.

Chad had a great idea and put 'What The Heck Is It?” on the list of themes for the Patreons to vote on for his August Theme. It was the run away winner!

Chad's final WTHII gadget for August is the Sudski Shower Beer Holder. Here's info from the company: Some pairings are just perfect, like a hot shower and a cold beer. Get your shower beer on any time with the Sudski Shower Beer Holder from 30 Watt. This beer holder is made of water resistant silicone and sticks to any glossy surface like glass, metal, shiny tiles, and laminate. Not for use with glass bottles. Mildew resistant. Holds one 12 or 16 oz. can. Measures 3" L x 4" W x 6" H.

And Chad's take: Chad likes this. As you'll see on the demo on this week's show, it stucks to Chad's shower day quickly without adhesives, or suction cups. It seems it can be removed easily too and reused. Besides soda and beer cans you can probably use it for shampoo or other non-glass item to have conveniently in the shower. MSRP is $14.95, but Chad found it at on sale at Bed Bath & Beyond for only $3.00. It's on sale on the BBB website for $5.99: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/30-watt-sudski-shower-beer-holder/5171153 (Not an affiliate link, but lowest price I saw online.)

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video To Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.

Our viewer video email of the week is from Dell Nell.

Dell mails us that his video is about his “First time use of the Pizzazz pizza oven."

He adds: Sorry you don’t really see my hands doing anything in the video as they are somewhat limited in what I can touch, but I hope it’s a good video.

As always enjoy you Dickie D and Chad

Here's a link to Dell's video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNgaGAB5gw4

From the Giz Wiz: Thanks, Dell. I never knew such a strange kind of oven existed. I found it on Amazon and it cost less than I expected, under $45 as of 8/28/21. Also it got very good reviews. The downsize is that if you have limited counter space, this large size appliance seems to do just one chore.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.
-
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
-
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.
-
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
-
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you'll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it's a copy. We've tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you'll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Email of the week

Our email of the week if from loyal fan Adam Jakowenko who writes:

Hey I know this isn't a gadget but anytime a product makes a ridiculous nonsense claim about their technology I think of you guys, so here you go....a protein bar with "Soft Bar Technology"!! I have no idea what that is but if anyone ever finds out lemme know.

p.s. This protein bar tastes awful and might as well be in the Crappy Corner...what they really need is "Good Taste Technology" 😁

Love the show! -Adam
