And thank you for doing that! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support.

And now onto gadgets from the NY Luxury Technology Show!

You Can Buy a $99 3-D Printer, Just Add You Own Smart Phone.

ONO bills itself as the 3D Printer of the Future. Why? Because it's never out of date because it advances with your smartphone. Basically they say you upgrade your printer every time you upgrade your phone. Where 3D printers use UV light, special ONO resins harden under visible light. That means 3D objects can be created layer by layer using your smartphone’s screen as light source. Are people interested in this device? Well they raised almost $3 million between Kickstarter pledges and BackerKit add-ons, As of March 23, 2017 they started delivering finished ONO printer to its 16,000+ backers. Then ONO will become publicly available for purchase at $99 USD in April, while resins will retail for $15. All products will be available directly online through the store at http://www.ono3d.net/ and selected resellers worldwide. The printer supports most Android and Apple smartphones running Android 4.4+ or iOS 9+.

Get a good handle on your smart phone.

If you love your smartphone, put an "iRing” on it says the company CEO! As you see in our video The iRing is an attachable accessory that allows you to comfortably and naturally grip your smart device and use it in entirely new ways. The patented compact swivel hinge allows you to swivel 180° and rotate 360° and function as a horizontal and vertical Ring Kickstand. And this is a big plus. Their special adhesive technology allows you to apply or remove the iRing at any time without leaving any excess residue. So it's a gadget that help prevents phone dropping without a case, or you can use it with your current case! It ships with the iRing Hook a universal smartphone mount. Use it to mount your smartphone on your vehicle‘s dashboard or hang it in your home or office for easy viewing. But while the iRing for your phone is removable and reusable, the iRing Hook has to stay where you place it. There's also an iRing Dock, their universal smartphone mount. It allows you to swivel and adjust your smartphone while mounted and is ideal for vehicle dashboards. You can find them all at the company website and on Amazon. iRing and hook: $19.99, iRing, hook and dock: $29.99.

Portable 'Lego-Like' Projector.

Aiptek builds all kind of mini video projectors. At The Luxury Technology Show Aiptek’s Jamie Tsai, shows us the iBeamBLOCK, a stackable and configurable computing projection system. Jamie said it was inspired by a popular children's interlocking building-block brand. (Hmmm, like LEGO?) Connection among the components is achieved through magnetics and pogo pins, so no cable is needed. Lock them together and the power and other connections are automatically made. It has built-in stereo speakers, and it can project images of up to 100 inches. The included tablet is Windows 10-based; and the projector offers 400 lumens of brightness. Jamie said it will operate for up to two hours, and recharges in four to six hours. A USB port makes the system ideal for use in small-scale video conferencing applications. The 3-piece system has a MSRP of $699.99 and is available now. Also in the video we shot you'll see their boom-box version that can operate for 4 hours on battery and has 8 built-in speaker with a 40 watt amplifier. That sells for $999.99.

Chad's Crappy Corner & His Final 'Cheap Security Gadget' - His Theme For March, 2017

For this show Chad's picked as his final security gadget for March: The Clear Dash HD Dash Cam.

Here's what Amazon says about The Clear Dash HD. Capture every ride from start to finish. With the full HD, Clear Dash HD make it their word against your video. Clear Dash HD records audio and video for 14 hours and supports up to a 32 GB SD memory card. (8 gig SD card included.) 2.5" Video Screen Mounts easily- 360° Pivot. Super Wide, HD- Vivid 120° Wide-Angle View. Clear Dash HD mounts easily on any windshield, plugs right into your car charger and starts with ignition. It is even motion activated while you are in park. Cheap! Chad paid $15.99 + $4.89 shipping.

And Chad's take. Chad bought his Clear Dash HD Dash Cam at a brick and mortar establishment and paid about $30. As you'll see in the video, although it's more than $150 cheaper than his normal dash cam, it seems the difference in price is really noticeable. The Clear Dash HD has a lot of features in the ad, that don't add up to much. The Vivid 120-degree wide angle lens isn't very wide when you compare it to Chad's high end dash cam. As a matter of fact most of the other dash cams on Amazon have a much wider view. The cheaper Clear Dash video is brownish and blurry. Chad also said the instructions are bad and the user interface is far from user-friendly. And when we looked at the Amazon page you'll see it got about two stars out of five and lots of complaints. So if you need more convincing just watch this week's show! One possible plus is that the cam can be set for "motion activation' so you might be able to use it a security cam. But you'd have to hope you'll be able to make out the face of the person or persons who set if off.

Dick's Gadget Warehouse & How to Submit Your Viewer Video.

Our viewer video this week arrived with this email:

From: steve c  Subject: Re: Mystery Box Video?

Dickie Dee, is this video good enough to put on the show? I know you have very low standards but I made this on a Linux computer that doesn't have any good video recording software and can't even adjust the volume so it might even be below your standards. This is a little mystery box that I found at a thrift store and I have no idea what it does although it seems to be well made! So far I'm guessing it's either a bigfoot, UFO or alien detector!

BTW, the smartphone lens sets are only $1 now at the 99 Cents Only Store so I got several!  The macro lens works well for close ups and the wide angle lens is OK but I don't know what the fisheye lens would be good for.

We’re looking for more Viewer Videos!

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

-

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video!

IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Letter of the week:

Hi Dick & Chad

Just wanted to let Chad know about these USB extension cables, I think it will solve Chads USB extension cable problems.

USB active extension cable

Use these when extending any UBS camera or mic, they work flawlessly & they never give out. Below is a link to one I found on AmaZon, but I believe any active USB extension cable will work, I never bought a bad one. The reason I know about them is because I own a MacPro from 2009, & no regular USB extension cable worked. Then I read about theses, bought one, then two, three & so on.

I still have them today, & I still use them today.

You can find them on Amazon.
