Episode 1125

House-Bound
Matthew Kopelke from Queensland, Australia has been a long-time listener of the show and the TWiT network since he became a fan of the network on the launch of Windows Weekly.  At around Easter this year, Matthew had to undergo some serious surgery and was house-bound for a month on his own, often without much human contact.  But for the Daily Giz Wiz, he could have gone crazy due to solitary confinement.  He used the time available to catch up with the first 500-odd episodes of the show.  Our condolences to Matthew, for having lost his sanity.  Leo still recommends the test tube and stopper.

Episode 1124

Hallmark Policy
Dick once did a segment on Valentine Day’s cards on TV, and afterwards, Hallmark asked for the cards back.  It was Hallmark’s corporate policy.  Leo likes the idea and will be implementing it for TWiT.

Seek and Find
Opher Banarie was listening to Episode 1099 in which Leo suggested that the Seeker 400 was a good thing to give to kids, and wondered what, who knows, they might find.  Opher, on the other hand, wondered what, who knows, they might be charged with.

Dick also thought that the Seeker 400 might be useful for looking at small serial numbers or other tiny print.  Opher’s solution is to take a picture of the number with a digital camera and zoom in on the picture in Photoshop.

Dedication
Michael from Ireland has to look after an ill grandfather, and the Daily Giz Wiz helps make it easier.  He has an iPod Touch 8GB, which is entirely dedicated to listening to the show.  He has almost caught up with the old episodes and looks forward to many more.  Leo has a suggestion for Michael – get a bottle and a stopper – and Dick just cracks up.

Episode 1121

Arsenio Hall
The other day Leo got a call on his radio show from Burton Richardson, the announcer for the TV show Arsenio Hall.

A Sailing Story
Leo once took Jennifer on a MacMania Cruise and all the time Jennifer was worrying that the cruise was going to sink.  Recently they attended a charity auction.  One of the auctioned items was a trip on Humphrey Bogart’s old boat.  After some very competitive bidding, Leo was surprised to learn that Jennifer, who was sitting behind him, had got the bid.  In the end Leo took the TWiT staff on the boat trip.

Garage Butler
Colin O’Connor has been listening since Episode 1, and has even got his 9-year-old son listening to the show.  The Nighthawk Deadbolt Security Indicator in Episode 1111 reminds him of his Garage Butler.
