Sent Cracking
Leo’s account of playing fireworks in Petaluma reminded Alessandro Abate of his childhood in Venezuela.  Just like in Petaluma, fireworks were available for sale on the roadside, including a kind of firecracker that claimed to be waterproof.  Sandro and his cousin wanted to test the claim, and back in the cul-de-sac where his home was, they lit a firecracker and put it in a plastic bucket of water.  It did remain lit, but they were disappointed that the firecracker did not sink but remained floating on the water.  They tried another, weighted down with a rock this time.  They lit it, scurried away and the explosion sent the water splashing out to 100 feet.  The rock was nowhere to be found but the bucket remained, blown inside out.  Leo is going out to get some Safe and Sane fireworks and try to blow up his house.
