    American Innovative
Today's OK To Wake children's clock is made by American Innovative, who also made the Neverlate Alarm Clocks that Dick covered in Episodes 421 and 761.  For the Good Nite Lite which is a similar idea to the OK To Wake, check out Episode-801.

    The Next Big Thing
Dick wants to pass on this info from Lauren MillettThe Next Big Thing, a national product search contest.  The deadline for entries is 26 March 2010.

    Episode 1047

    Another Rerun
Dick is impressed that Leo has decent gadgets 2 weeks in a row.  Dick likes it, and he should.  Leo was talking yesterday about doing reruns on TWiTLive.  True to his word, he’s doing a rerun, of Episode 178, when Dick talked about the CarMD, back in October 2006.  Naturally neither of them remembers it.

    More Lost Letters Jingles
Dan Lueders has found more “lost” letters jingles from his archives.  They include Bing, 60’s, and Chant (reminiscent of This Week In Google’s Googorian Chant, by DGW weekend themes writer Rob Houghton – check out TWiG Episode 32).

    A Trojan Horse
Opher Banarie refers to a security alert by security researchers that a trojan has got into the Energizer Duo (Episode 506) software.  Beware of gift-bearing monkeys!

    Kibibyte
Long-time listener and FLOSS Weekly host Randal Schwartz writes in about DGW’s Kilosode (Episode 1024), in which Leo talked about the ambiguity of prefixes like kilo, mega and giga in computer and tech contexts.  Randal points out that there is a solution, though not yet widely adopted, of using kibi, mebi, gibi and so on for binary usage.  You can check out the terminology on Wikipedia.  Yeah right, and this one would be our Nodcast, quips Dick.

    Episode 1046

    Rework
Dick was listening to the recording of Net At Night Episode 142, an interview of the authors of a new book called Rework, David Heinemeier Hansson of Ruby on Rails fame, and Jason Fried who started 37 Signals.  They have suggestions on how to run a new web business, and Dick thinks it’s just like TWiT: Don’t pay your hosts, bounce your cheques, do as many reruns as possible.

Rework, by David Heinemeier Hansson & Jason Fried
The Baldwin and Martin of Podcasting
Dick and Leo enjoyed the Oscars.  Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin are just like Dick and Leo, only talented.  The other difference is Alec and Steve were on the red carpet, while Dick and Leo were on the yellow bathmat.

    A Gracie Allen of Tech
Jenniifer Laporte has yet to get used to the idea of Full HD TV, even with Leo's 60-inch Pioneer Kuro dominating their living space.  She’s still buying DVDs instead of Blu Ray discs, and not so long ago, she got a huge stack of VHS movies.  She also went to twit.live.tv expecting to see Leo’s butt but ended up seeing a woman’s butt.  Leo feels he’s married a Gracie Allen of tech.

    DGW Saves A Marriage
Bill Lieber aka Lost Boy from San Diego only has 3 days at home for every 3 weeks he spends on the road.  Needless to stay, it puts a great strain on his marriage.  But thanks to the show and its sponsor gotomeeting, he can still see his wife without being home.

    Episode 1045

    Frame-O-Matic
Dick apparently saw Leo’s very special camera on the Wine Train.  Every photo came out already framed.  It’s called the Frame-O-Matic.

    The Perfect Egg
The Up Chuck (Episode 1032) has proved to be a big hit with listeners, and everyone has been writing in.  Mary McGrath was prompted to write about an iPhone app called The Perfect Egg Timer, which tells you everything you don’t need to know about cooking an egg.

Perfect Egg Timer - an iPhone app
    WTHII
The last WTHII gadget was the Thumb Thing, which you use for holding down the pages on both sides of a book which sometimes refuses to stay open. It works as a bookmark too.

Thumb Thing - Available from Spoon Sisters

    Episode 1044

    Up Chuck 2.0
Opher Banarie thinks the Up Chuck (Episode 1032) needs a serious upgrade.  It should have a blood sample collector for testing your cholesterol levels, an auto-tweeter of your cholesterol levels and number of eggs eaten, and LED googly eyes.  The Brown Sugar Lobster should have a GPS notifying you of its own position, auto-tweet the humidity level, and self-lock when a diabetic tries to open the sugar jar.
