The Giz Wiz Show 1645 for October 20th 2017, Our 128th Independent Production.

We're well into our third year of Independent Production thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters! If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/. You can also contribute just once via the PayPal link that's there too. And thank you for doing that! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support, but a bit more support would be a big help.

This week we have three new pet gadgets from the Time To Play Magazine Holiday Showcase. (Yes, they've added a pet aisle, with some very interesting gadgets.)

Catit says: “Most cats don't drink enough water?”

And the reason they don't drink enough water? They only want, clean fresh tasting water, no stagnant stuff! That's why they developed the Catit Flower Fountains - to help prevent urinary tract diseases by encouraging your cat to drink more. You'll see in the video and they're decently priced. You'll see the products in their Catit Senses line - designed to stimulate your cat to use its sense of sight, touch, hearing, and smell. Here's some info from the company: Cats are natural-born hunters and respond well to movement and light. The Catit circuits encourage your cat to chase and pounce to its heart’s content. The Catit Senses 2.0 Food Tree is a slow feeder with different levels that provide your cat with an exciting challenge. The Catit Senses 2.0 Digger is the slow feeder that allows your cat to dig for its food. Cat grass is beneficial for your cat’s digestive tract. Give your feline friend the opportunity to nibble on some fresh leaves with the Catit Cat Grass Kit and Grass Planter. The Catit Senses 2.0 Scratcher is the light-weight modular cat scratcher with replaceable disks. Save your furniture from being destroyed with our modular cardboard scratcher. The Catit Senses 2.0 Self Groomer is an elevated catnip brush for self-grooming. It fits around corners and on straight walls. The company website shows all their products, but they're sold in stores and on Amazon.

easyPlay - Smartest Robic Pet Toy. (And yes, the company uses a small "e" in easy!

What can the easyPlay robic toy do for your pet? The company's answer: Play, reward, activity tracking, remote HD camera, two-way mic/speaker and much more. I like this device because it not only let you look in on your pet, but you can drive the camera around your home or apartment via the app. There's two way audio too, and a lot of other features you'll see in the video. But right now (10/19/17), I don't know what going on with this gadget. If you follow their link to the Indiegogo page, you get: "easyPlay - Smartest Robotic Pet Toy" is currently being updated. Please check back later and show your support.” Chad thinks they were editing the site and forget to put it back online. Or that the Indiegogo campaign ended and they didn't put that online. So perhaps when you check, all will be normal again. But the rest of their website is up.

Meet the K9 Sports Sack

Here's the backstory: The K9 Sport Sack Dog Carrier Backpack was created by dog owners. It all started when we wanted to take our dog on a bike ride. We looked, bought, and threw away countless "popular" dog carriers that were on the market. They simply didn't work the way we wanted them to work. So we designed the K9 Sport Sack. We wanted it to be hands free, easy to get into, comfortable and most importantly, safe. After creating the first K9 Sport Sack with our sewing machine, it immediately gained tons of attention on the trails, at the store and wherever else we went. "Where did you get that?!" was the most common question, so we decided to make it an actual thing people could buy. The K9 Sport Sack is now the worlds best dog carrier, and we couldn't be happier to see fellow dog owners doing new things with their dogs and bringing them to new places. As you heard in the video, the K9 Sport Sack is $69.99 on their website, with a more advanced model, called the Sport Sack Pro arrived some time in December. That will sell for $99.99.

The company also offers other dog gadgets, like sunglasses, leashes, etc. on their website:

Chad's Crappy Corner & The Third Gadget For His New Theme For October!

Chad polled our loyal Patreon (the great folks who keep our show alive) as to what he should chose for his October them. Their verdict: Cheap Halloween gadgets!

For his third Halloween gadget Chad Halloween found something clever from the Hyde and Eek! Boutique. (Clever name, that!) He found it at Target and here's a bit of info from the Target website: Bring out your inner ghoul with the Halloween Spooky Voice Microphone from Hyde and Eek! Boutique™. This microphone makes the perfect decoration with the antique look, while the animated style brings a fun surprise. The surprise is the voice recording and voice changer, you'll see Chad demo in this week's show.

And Chad's take? Chad liked this gadget a lot. First of all, it's a great looking retro microphone. (I might buy one just to have it on display at Gizneyland.) Second of all, the electronic voice changer works very well. As Chad points out, it's not instantaneous. You say something short – about 15 seconds - and they built-in voice changer says it back with a scary voice. (A red recording light lets you know you're recording.) It's battery operated and the only weird thing about it is that the “Try Me” demo button is actually built into the unit and cannot be removed! Chad's thinks this a great gadget for just $15 at Target.

I decided I had to get one of these for my Gizneyland studio. Surprise, it was on sale for $12.75 on 10/20/17 here at Target: http://tinyurl.com/ScaryMic

Dick's Gadget Warehouse And How To Submit Your Video.

We're always asking for new videos and this week we have one from a viewer who never submitted one before. It's a little dark, but Marlon's father is a real gadget fan. It seems he doesn't part with anything!

Here's Marlon's email:

Hello Dick and Chad love the show.

So as you keep on asking for a new contributor here we go. I recorded this video while in Jamaica while visiting my parents. My Dad has lots of cool stuff and thus has turned me in to a 'Gadget" collector myself enjoy.

We're looking for more viewer videos!

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

-

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video!

IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
