Giz Wiz #1538 October 1st, 2015, our 22nd Independently Produced Giz Wiz Show

If you'd like to support Chad & DickDe in our independent venture, just click the Patreon link at the top of this link: http://www.gizwiz.tv/.  You can also contribute just once via PayPal there too. And thank you!

And now on to another Time To Play event, starting with a fun game for kids (and adults) called

PIE FACE!

Here's what Amazon says about it: The exciting Pie Face game is filled with fun and suspense, and somebody’s bound to get splatted! Just put some delicious whipped cream from home or the wet sponge on the “hand” of this hilarious game unit and start turning the handles. It could go off at any time, so keep your fingers crossed and hope you’re not the one who gets a splat in the face! You score a point for every time you turn the handle without getting pie-faced, and the one who scores 25 points wins. Take some risks and hope for the best in this hilarious Pie Face game!

The Giz Wiz adds: The folks at the Hasbro booth said the rules aren't written in stone, so you can make-up any game you want. The sponge is included, which you should wet to make it fun, but the whipped cream is not. I think just about anybody will like this game, kids and adult. Great for a party, or to get a party going. It sells for under $20, so for now I wouldn't buy it on Amazon. where it seems to be selling above MSRP. It was about $16 at ToysRUs on 9/30/15. It's new, so price on Amazon should drop soon.

It's The Bomb....a fun one.

The folks at Patch told me Chrono Bomb, was a top-selling game in France, so they brought it over here. It's a super secret spy mission where kids use the included clamps and 27.5-ft. string to create a "laser" field to crawl through. (Yes, it's string, not a real laser which would be expensive and dangerous.) At the end of the maze is the bomb, counting down. Tick, tick, tick! So, you have to hurry, carefully, and make it to the end to defuse the bomb and be the hero! The sound effects were impossible to hear over the noise at the Time To Play Magazine event, but judging from the size of the speaker, my guess is that they will be on the softer side. Kids can play over and over again, by building new courses each time or trying to beat their friend's time! The game also comes with object cards that have pictures of flashlights, an earpiece, camera etc. So if you want to add complexity to the game, you can be require players to pick those up those “items” as they make their way through the laser field. As a reviewer said on Amazon: “.....you can put the cards in particularly tough spots to make sure nobody takes the easy path through the laser field.” The game includes a free app for more play value, but they told me the app doesn't connect to the actual game! Requires three AAA batteries, not included. For ages 7 and up. It's under $25.00 on Amazon which it got pretty good reviews from customers.

Here's a wild video of the game they were showing at the event, which is also on YouTube:

Chad's Crappy Corner and a brand new theme for October:

Chad polled our Patreon supporters and for his October theme they selected a fun theme: “As Seen on TV” gadgets. And Chad's first gadget of October is:

Snackeez is the all-in-one, go anywhere snacking solution. Here's some info via Amazon: The Snackeez travel cup has a clever design that lets you have a 16 oz drink and hold your favorite snack (In a 4 oz. Inner cup) all in one hand. Seal your travel glass perfectly to keep snacks fresh and prevent spills. The hinged flip-top lid snaps securely shut. Snackeez is dishwasher safe and comes in various colors! Includes a straw and the snack cup has a flip top lid.

And Chad's take? Chad liked Snackeez. Although he ordered his on Amazon it didn't come in time for the show so he bought one at his local drug store chain. Chad demoed his Snackeez by filling the container with water (we're a low budget show) and the inner container with potato chips. The video shows that if a kids knocks the Snackeez over the seal prevents spills. Chad bravely knocked his Snackeez over and just a drink or two came out through the straw. I expected a much worse outcome. So it does work as advertised. Chad even got his to make the “pop” sound like in the commercial. Chad also showed us a pack of ten disposable Snackeez cups. They're not spill proof and not dishwasher safe, but you could get a few uses out of each one. They were also $10 for 10 of them, the same price as one of the more robust Snackeez cup. You can also get a Star Wars version which is a little smaller in size, but also $10. So this week's Chad's corner was not so crappy!

                                     **********

We’re looking for more Viewer Videos! We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

My Favorite Gadget of All Time: Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video! IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv.
