The Giz Wiz Show 1612 for March 3rd 2017, Our 95th Independent Production.

Thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters The Giz Wiz Show not only continues, but is heading toward the end of its 2nd year of independent production. If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/ You can also contribute just once via the PayPal link that's there too. And thank you for doing that! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support.

And now to more fun, educational and unique toys and games from the huge Toy Fair 2017 Trade show at the Javits Centers in NYC.

Kids love Folkmanis puppets, but they're not the only ones.

I love Folkmanis puppets too. They're so original and creative! At Toy Fair 2017 Folkmanis Puppets announced a new puppet collection. For the first time they're bringing iconic Disney characters to life with detailed, full-body puppets of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Pluto. The company says these heirloom quality toys offer superior play value and are designed to last for generations for those who want to collect aqnd cherish them as collectibles. The Mickey Mouse puppet comes to life when you animate mouth and hands through the access point in the back. There are also pockets in the gloves to wave, clap and blow kisses. 22” tall. And don't worry, there's a Minnie Mouse too. Also 22” tall. Both are for ages 3+ with a SRP of $73.99 for either one. But wait, there's more! There's Donald Duck with a movable mouth and hands that bring his feisty personality to life (just use your imagination.) And of course, Pluto: The gang’s loyal canine companion Pluto has an expressive face with movable mouth and perky ears. Animate Pluto's perky ears with a squeeze to the low-tech airbladder at the base of each foreleg. Operate one or both ears to amuse and delight friends and family. Be sure to watch the video to see Pluto in action. Donald and Pluto are 22” long. Ages 3+. SRP $65.99. All should be available now, March, 2017.

Drones Like No Others I've Ever Seen.

These really unique drones I found at Toy Fair 2017 are from a brand new line called Drone Force from Alpha. They're a team of fun and easy to fly RC creatures, each with different performance and battle features. The new drones you'll see in the video of this show include:

·Stinger: Alien drone technology at your fingertips! Take control of the skies with stable and intuitive flight control. Feature a durable exoskeleton roll cage for safe and strong indoor flying.

·Arachno Fury: The spider... that flies! Perform flips, dips and dive bomb stunts indoors and outdoors, with an easy to use controller! (Green & black in photo.)

·Raptor Strike: With a built-in targeting system, the Raptor Strike can take aim and fire dual missiles in flight! Safe and fun to fly indoors and outdoors.

·Angler Attack: The terror of the sea... illuminating the skies! Electro-surge attack with brilliant, luminescent LEDs and Glow FX! Features one-touch takeoff and landing for easy indoor and outdoor flight.

·Morph Zilla: (The strangest of them all!) Surface to sky mayhem! Drive on the ground in Ape Mode, morph into action and then fly in the air in Drone Mode. Easy to morph, stunt and fly,

both indoors and outdoors. (Purple & yellow drone in picture.)

MSRP of the new line will range from $24.99- $79.99. Recommended for Age: 6+. Available: Fall 2017

How do you run the new Lionel Trains with Bluetooth? There's an app for that!

Kids love trains and they love their digital devices. So Lionel thought: why not combine the two? And they did just that with The Polar Express LionChief Set equipped with Bluetooth Technology. The Polar Express has been capturing imaginations and hearts for over 30 years, but now this new Bluetooth version offers you smoother operation and better sounds as you run the Polar Express train with your smart device. As of February 2017, the iOS version of the app is available, and the spokesperson said the Android version will be available soon. THE POLAR EXPRESS BT set Includes 2-8-4 locomotive and tender, two coach cars, plus an observation car. There's also four articulated movie characters, enough track to make a decent sized oval, and a wall-pack power supply so you can get up and running right out of the box. Other features include: RailSounds RC sound system with steam chuffing and engine background sounds, whistle, bell and user-activated announcements. You can even change the sound of the whistle and the bell via the free Lionel app. MSRP: $419.99, but discounts are usually available once the set is available. http://www.trainworld.com/ doesn't show it in stock, but when they do, they show the price as $329.99, so that's $90 off. Prices as of 3/2/17. (I have bought train gear there, but have no affiliation with them.)

Chad's Crappy Corner & His New Theme For March, 2017

Chad polled our great Patreon members to pick a theme for his March “Chad's Crappy (or sometimes not so crappy) Corner. They picked “Security Gadgets”. Chad's 1st Security Guard is a can of “Pringles”. What? Read on. Okay, it's looks like a can of Pringles you'd buy at the store, but it's actually a safe! Here's what Amazon says about it:

This is the ultimate in dorm "stash safe." You can hide anything in this Pringles safe and no one will ever suspect anything. Put in your closet or place of storage and your items will be safe from all who are unaware of the stash inside. Has Real Pringles in the can. You can still "Pop the Top!" RA's and thiefs will have no idea what you may be hiding. Research shows that a burglar spends an average of 8 minutes in the victim's home. Put the odds in your favor...hide your valuables in plain sight. The diversion safes are a unique home-security product. We offer a wide variety of personal care, household products and food containers with removable tops and bottoms. Valuables can be discreetly stored inside these look-a-like containers and kept in their seemingly rightful places. Each in indistinguishable from the genuine product and is even weighted to feel full.

And Chad's Take? Chad thought this was pretty neat. That's why he spent $20 on it at his local Spy Center store. Not only does it look like a can of Pringles, but if you shake it, it sounds like there are Pringles inside. As Chad noted, it may sound different depending on what you hide inside, but whatever shakes is not inside the space left for you to hide cash, keys, etc. This mini safe opens from the bottom, so the top stays looking like an unopened can of Pringles. Except for people who watch this episode, no one will guess your Pringles is your secret hiding place. Although Chad paid $20, someone in our chatroom found it cheaper on Amazon so search there.

Chad bought his at one of this company's actual stores: http://www.spycenter.com/

Back To Dick's Gadget Warehouse - and how to submit your video!

Perfect timing for this show and the end of the Jan/Feb 'What The Heck Is It?' game! This week's viewer video arrived with this email:

Hi Dick and Chad,

We’re looking for more Viewer Videos!

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

-

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video!

IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Letter of the week:

Dick, Chad.

I read Science Fiction like many if not most of your audience. In it, they have luggage follow you around on a regular basis. Well, I recently stumbled across a video for a robot that, follows you around, just like SF.

This is where I first saw it
