Two of Chad's Favorite "As Seen on TV" Gadgets of 2015.

Chad polled our Patreon supporters and for his October theme they selected a fun theme: “As Seen on TV” gadgets.

Chad's third “as seen on TV” gadget for October is Egg-Tastic! I see this ad all the time on TV, so I'm really glad Chad got one to try out! I was very interested in hearing how it worked.

From the company: Make cooking your favorite egg recipes a breeze and mess free with the Egg-TasticTM Microwave Egg Cooker and Poacher. Crack your egg right in the ceramic pot, mix in ingredients of your choice and microwave to enjoy fast, fluffy, flavorful eggs every time right in your microwave! The vented lid allows steam to escape while the unique ceramic pot circulates heat for even cooking! No extra dishes. Prep and enjoy your meal in the same dish. Egg-Tastic is dishwasher safe to make clean up quick and easy. Nonstick coating allows for no additional oils, fats, or grease.

And Chad's take? Whoa! Chad likes Egg-Tastic a lot! As you'll see in the video, he cracked two eggs into the Egg-Tastic cup, whipped them a bit with a fork, and put them in the microwave. In a couple of minutes Chad had scrambled eggs. Although they don't look like eggs you scramble in a frying pan, Chad said they tasted very good. He didn't add anything to the eggs, although it comes with recipes of variations on eggs. Folks in the chatroom said you could do the same thing with any ceramic cup, but I would worry it might explode, or leech some chemical into the eggs. Beside for under $11, you can have the real thing. Chad found his at Walgreens, so you can check your local drugstore first.

Chad's second favorite “as seen on TV” gadget is WugglePets.

WugglePets are adorable stuffed animals with backpack clips that you make yourself. Simply fill the Wuggle with fluffy soft filling and Magic Dust using the child-friendly stuffer machine. Starter Kit includes a puppy and unicorn, stuffer machine, stuffing, 12 personality charms, magic dust, birth certificates and a zipper-pulling tool. 6"H. Ages 4+. Imported. Refill Kits includes Wuggle Pet™, stuffing, personality charms, magic dust, birth certificate, backpack clip and zipper-pulling tool.

And Chad's take? Chad, and everyone watching us record this show, seemed to enjoy watching Chad creating his own Wuggle Pet. It's fun adding the stuffing and the magic dust. Kids, age 4 and up, will probably get a kick out of making their own Wuggle Pet which actually looked very look when completed. At about $13 for this kit, Chad and most others seemed to think it was a pretty good deal. You have enough to make two Wuggle Pets with the kit, and once you have the easy to use Wuggle Pet machine, you can buy additional pets.

My favorite gadget of 2015 that Chad Showed on Giz Wiz.

The Large Dome Disco Bulb.

The website where Chad ordered it has this to say:

You can turn any light fixture into a groovy party when you have theLarge Dome Disco Bulb. This sound activated multicolor LED light can be used in an overhead ceiling fixture so that the downward light effects will illuminate walls and floors. This bulb can replace any standard bulb and last up to 20,000 hours. It's $19.99, plus shipping, unless your order is over $25.

And Chad’s take: Chad liked the Disco Bulb A LOT! He said it was very bright and lights up a large area with a real disco ball effect. He never expected it to be so much fun. It's a definite "buy".

I liked the Disco Bulb so much I started looking around the Internet for other disco lighting gadgets and I found a very convenient one. While you need a lamp or other light fixture to screw the Disco Bulb into, I found a complete Disco Bulb unit. The TSSS Disco DJ Stage Lighting LED RGB Crystal Light is self-contained. It contains a fixture that holds the disco light, an AC cord, and even a mini-tripod, so it’s ‘plug and play’ – rather, ‘plug and dance’. Check current price on Amazon here:

A Gadget I Talked About On The Show That Chad Picked As His Favorite Of The Year.

It's a fast and easy way for a college student to change sheets in the dorm room.

Simple Sheets. This product has an interesting back story. The short version: Mom goes to visit son in his dorm and realizes he almost never changes the sheets. Why? Because it's too much trouble, especially since it's a bunk bed. Mom figures she can come up with an easy way for a college student to change sheets. She, with help of her son, invents a fitted sheet with a fast strip-off velcro top. When the velcro sheet gets dirty, strip it off in seconds and press on the provided 2nd clean sheet. Now the student has time to launder the first sheet to get it ready for the next quick-change. A 4 piece starter kit which includes a storage pocket for bedside electronics ,is $48.00. There are other options on their website, along with an animated video explaining the invention story.

Make enjoying snacks longer lasting for your dog.

BUSTER DogMaze (and DogMaze Mini) is suitable for both a meal and a small treat. Place the treats in the curved tracks and watch your dog uses his nose, tongue, and paws to chase the food down the channels to the exit points. By being able to see and smell the food, your dog will be motivated to keep trying until he finishes the snack. It makes snacking into a game and it takes your pooch much longer to eat than if the snacks were in a bowl. The bigger Buster DogMaze is easier and the mini more difficult. (I showed the mini on air. Most dog breeds have fun with the maze.  They can be used indoors and outdoors. It is made in one-piece form tough, non-toxic plastic and can be washed in the dishwasher. The plastic is approved for foods and does not contain phthalates. There's a bigger BUSTER DogMaze and a mini-slow-feeder on Amazon. In the video below, we put Charlie, our rescue shelter dog, to the DogMaze test.
