Have a lot of gadgets to charge before you go to bed? The Kube Clock radio can charge six devices at the same time! The three Kube Clock built-in connectors are compatible with virtually all smart phones and tablets, while you're also able to charge fitness bands, cameras and headphones through its dual auto-sensing USB ports. It was original designed for high-end hotels (where it's still found) but now it's available for the home and office. "Sound Advice" on a neat piece of sound-fixing software.

I learned about SoundSoap just in time to avoid a disaster. Here's the backstory that involves the two videos above. When Dennis (who shot the videos) and I got back from the Pepcom Spring event and uploaded the videos we were in for a big surprise. I had used an older mic with the much newer Galaxy S6. You can do that with no problem as long as you insert a special dongle between them. (It does something important like changing the way audio connections are wired between the two devices.) Without that dongle, the Galaxy S6 not only records the external Audio Technica mic audio, it also records all the unwanted and loud background noise via the built in phone mic. So for a while we thought the videos for the Waspcam & the Kube+Clock above were totally unusable. (We couldn't reshoot them because Pepcom is a one-time 3 hour event.) But after doing some quick research online I found out about Sound Soap and it saved the day. (And the two videos.) All I did was open the media to be cleaned in SoundSound and I let it adjust the settings. Then I saved the results in a different file than the source video. Its was that easy! They were more adjustment that could be made but I was happy just to know I could use our two videos. SoundSoap works on Mac OS X or Windows 7/8/10 as a standalone application or a plug-in. The company says it supports most popular media file formats. I used SoundSoap5. There's a more advanced version called SoundSoap5+ which allows for more adjustments. The plug-in version is $79.99 and the full desk version is $149.99. There's more info on the company webssite.

Here's a quickie Giz Wiz video demo: The first 10 seconds of the video is the way it was recorded. The second 10 seconds is the result after SoundSoap Software automatically cleaned it up enough for us to use.

Chad's Crappy Corner and another 'cheap gag gadget', his theme for April.

It's time for another gadget in Chad's theme for April:Tricks, pranks and practical jokes. As you'll hear on this week's show, years ago (when Chad was a kid), he had a 'trick' animal that he used to fool people into thinking it was a real pet. Chad showed us the pet and I really thought it was real for the first few minutes. Then he revealed it as a joke. He said it took a bit of time to learn how to use his Tricky The Fox puppet, but as you'll see, he did learn it well. Turns out that particular pet isn't available anymore, but Chad said there are others on Amazon that pretty much do the same thing. And here's one of them:

Tricky the Fox- Spring Animal with Teaching DVD - Make Tricky Come to Life!

By the end of the DVD, Tricky will: Eat from your hand, Jump from your hands, Scurry up your body, Play dead, Stand at attention, Bite your finger, Kiss on the cheek, Play dead or need CPR, Dance around, Perform impersonations and more! About $30.00

No longer on Amazon.

Dick's Gadget Warehouse & How to Submit Your Viewer Video.

Our viewer video of the week arrived with this email:

Hey Dick and Chad I have another Gadget warehouse video for you, this time it actually is an old gadget. I wanted to show off my old RIM (BlackBerry) device and a blast from the past AOL Messenger device.

As I mentioned in the video I have a site http://bbref.ca/  where I have every single BlackBerry device ever made. This was just a side project I started to do and because I started to do this I started to collect older devices. It has turned into a really neat hobby, if you go to the site and type in “got” into the search field you can see the device I have already collected! Again I love the show guys and I look forward to it every single week!

I already have a magazine framed at my house and on the wall that everyone asks about and I don’t need another but my 14 year old son (My camera man for all my videos) would really love one, his name is Caleb!!   Steve Main

                                                       ******************

We’re looking for more Viewer Videos! We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.
-
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
-
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.
-
My Favorite Gadget of All Time: Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
-
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video! IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
