We still visit Dick's Gadget Warehouse on the Weekly Daily Giz Wiz.

It’s belongs in the Gadget Warehouse because it’s 21 years old, but it’s way too beautiful to sit in the dark.
It’s the Lionel Chessie Steam Special. This impressive Lionel 0 Gauge train is a Berkshine 2-8-2 steam engine and tender. It dates back to about 1990. Lionel advertised the features of this train as having electronic whistle, electronic mighty sound of steam, puffing smoke, magnetraction, transformer controlled forward-neutral-reverse, working headlight, die-cast body, white sidewalls on drivers, authentic Chessie steam special markings and powerful Lionel pullmor motor. The matching tender features die-cast six-wheel trucks. I got mine about 1990. The engine is still around for about $500. I couldn’t find any info on the wood/plexy exhibition case with motors and pulleys that lets the train run in place. The whole package sold for about $2,000.

I really enjoyed your TWIT Giz Wiz segment regarding Lionel Model Trains (Saturday, March 19, 2011).
Lionel, the oldest (established in 1900) and most notable manufacturer of model trains is still going strong, with many innovations that now allows one to run your trains (and other accessories) by remote control.
Lionel Model Trains.
Model Railroading is a fun, very educational (mechanical, electronics, design) and exciting hobby.
Also, the LARGEST train meet in the World for model railroaders is not too far away from NYC... in York, Pennsylvania ( TCA Train Meet - York, Pennsylvania ).
I wouldn't be surprised if the Chessie train you demonstrated could be found for sale at that gigantic (7 large buildings) show.
Model trains from the earliest to the latest time are displayed.... and for sale.
This particular Giz Wiz segment brought back many memories of the Lionel model trains that Santa Claus left under the Christmas Tree for MANY years... including the last one !! :-)
Thanks.
