For Boaters, Here's A Giant Safety Step Up From A Cell Phone For An Emergency.

If you're a boater, your cell phone can provide lots of marine information and keep you in touch with friends, the marina, etc. But in an real marine emergency, the Cobra Marine MR HH 600 VHF radio can a lot more. It has the ability to know your GPS coordinates and automatically transmit them with DSC calls to notify the Coast Guard or other vessels of your exact position in case of emergency. This radio also floats and has a built-in flashlight and emergency S.O.S. strobe. With the Bluetooth feature,  you can keep your cell phone safe and dry the cabin, and place/receive phone calls through the VHF radio out on deck. A feature called Rewind-Say-Again – lets you replay missed VHF calls. And there's selectable output - that lets you choose between 1, 3, and 6 Watts for short and long range communication. There's weather alert, NOAA weather channels and illuminated keys, including a dedicated Man Over Board key. MSRP: $229.99, but I see it for less on Amazon.

I just found the Cobra Marine MR HH 600 on Defender for under $150! I don't know how long that sale price will last. I have no affiliation with Defender but I have bought marine supplies there quite a few times and found them reliable.

Cooking on camping or hiking trip? This could be a big help!

Amazon says: Be Prepared for All Your Camping, Hiking or Backpacking Adventures and Equip Yourself with the #1 Camping Cookware Mess Kit, Outdoor Cooking Backpacking Gear & Camping Backpack and Hiking Picnic Set. (Yes, they love those endless titles.) I bought this kit just to see what it looked like in person and to make a video about it so you too could see if it lives up to its hype. Actually, I think the kit is very compact, and well made. I'm not sure you'll be making gourmet meals with it, but it's lightweight, packs into a small (included) nylon bag and might also be good just to have for emergencies. The company says the kit contains: FDA approved anodized aluminum pot and frying pan (non-stick surface) + one pot cover. Folding stainless steel spork, spoon, knife, and regular fork. 2 BPA Free bowls, Rice (or soup) ladle, loofah Sponge, carabiner to carry the kit, fire starter, and a mini-stove with Piezo ignition. Be sure to watch the video to see the size of these items, especially the stove, which is more like tiny, than mini. I paid $24.99 when I bought mine. .

Here's a pair of gloves you probably haven't seen before.

The Claw Gloves can handle a variety of gardening tasks with your gloves on. These gloves have rugged built-in claws! I bought the two pack so you can have one 'claw' glove & one non-claw glove for right or left hand. Use them for digging, planting, and raking small areas of the garden easily and free from needing other garden tools. I have not used these personally, but my co-host Chad Johnson (OMGchad), of The Giz Wiz Show found them, used them and said they work quite well for small garden chores. The two pack is the way to go. You get two Claw gloves, a left and right, and two non-claw gloves, a left and a right. That way you have a nice selection of what you want to wear to work in the garden. They're unisex gloves and only come in black & green. They're a stretchy fabric, so it's one-size fits most. MSRP: $10.

Watermelon Smash - The lastest way to get wet.

    Watermelon Smash

    Giz Wiz Video Extra: https://youtu.be/UIOM5casOZI
is a fun new twist on the water roulette game. It challenges each player to press the watermelon against their head as many times as the number on the spinner. It's a suspenseful game because you never know when the watermelon will fully crack open. (You'll see my surprise when I tried playing the game and got drenched. The link is at the Giz Wiz Video Extra below.) If it cracks on your turn, you either get covered with water or plastic watermelon seeds and you are out of the game. Be the last player left to avoid having the watermelon crack open and you win. Great for indoor play with seeds or outdoor play with water. The seeds are plastic and looked to be harmless, but not nearly as much fun as having it filled with water. Suggested Age is 6 Years and Up. And up to 8 people can play according to the directions. It's $19.99 at Target.
