Protecting your valuable home office electronics.
You seek out the electronics you want to buy, shop for the best price and then settle in to use them. But wait, you’re not finished shopping yet. You have to protect your electronics, especially your computer with your valuable files from power failures, spikes, etc. Here are two CyberPower units to consider; one for the small home office, and one for more robust set-ups. Also check the CyberPower website, because they offer an incredible selection of equipment-saving devices. The smaller unit I showed on the air was the CyberPower SX625G. It has a capacity of 625VA/375 Watts, and offers eight NEMA 5-15R receptacles, widely-spaced to accommodate transformer-based plugs. Its compact design allows for horizontal or vertical placement, or it can be conveniently mounted on a wall. This UPS has a maintenance-free battery, offers connectivity via one HID compliant USB, provides phone/network (RJ11) line protection and EMI/RFI filters that shield against electromagnetic and radio frequency disturbances. PowerPanel Personal Edition UPS Management software is included to monitor the vitals of the UPS and will safely shutdown the system in case of a power outage. MSRP is over $100, but it’s widely available on line for about $65 and up.

I have a fair amount of electronic equipment at my home office, Gizneyland. I'm been using the CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD unit. It has a capacity of 1500VA/900Watts, ten NEMA 5-15R receptacles and two maintenance-free, user-replaceable 12V/8.5Ah batteries. The intelligent multi-function LCD panel displays real-time UPS vitals for ease of control. This unit offers connectivity via one HID USB and one DB9 serial ports. Protection for phone/network (RJ11/RJ45) and cable/coax (RG-6) is included. EMI/RFI filters increase the immunity of the load to noise disturbances. Two (2) 5Vdc USB 2.0 charging ports for portable devices such as mobile phones, MP3 players, and cameras. PowerPanel Personal Edition UPS Management software automatically closes computer files and safely shuts down the system in case of a power outage. Much more info is on the company website. MSRP: $259.95, but discounts are widely available. More info on this unit:
