A different kind of noise reduction headphone from Bose

The Bose QC 20 are the company’s first in-ear noise reduction headphones. Although they’re not out yet (due out August 1st) I did get to listen to them at a press preview. They’re just amazing both at blocking out unwanted noise and in lifelike music reproduction. The famous Bose Digital Signal Processing was re-engineered to fit this new tiny form factor. And they incorporate another new feature: “Aware mode”. On trhe small control module, just push a swtich to tun Aware Mode on. It lets your music play, but still allows your surroundings to be heard clearly. If you’re riding a bike, you’ll hear a horn; or gate announcements at the airport. There’s also an integrated inline microphone and controls that enable you to take cell phone calls. There are two models; one for iPhones, and the other for Android and Blackberry phones. But wait, there’s more! Another new feature are the StayHear+ ear tips. They make it easy to insert the QC 20’s in the ear, and they hold them securely in place. And they’re quite comfortable. Battery life on a full charge is about 10 hours. Also if the battery dies, you can still hear your music. They'll just behave like normal Bose headsets. $299, at Bose online and Bose Stores. Available for order August 1st, 2013.
