Ever hear of LED Gloves? Yes, it's thing!

If you show these odd shaped things to someone, it would be hard to figure out what they are. But as you'll see in the video, they're LED Flashlight Gloves. On the Amazon website page I was on, they were two pair for roughly $15.00 or $7.50 each. I got 2 pairs of LED flashlight gloves and 2 screwdrivers for opening the 2 button cell battery compartment. The idea is to wear them sort of as portable flashlights. There's an on and off button and 2 LED lamps, one on the forefinger and one on the thumb of each glove. Since they're worn on your hands there's no need to hold a traditional flashlight so doing chores in the dark should be easy. They come with no instructions, but fortunately there's the photo on Amazon which makes it easy to see how to wear them. The description says the gloves are made of comfortable, soft, breathable cotton material - that hand washing will not affect normal use, but it can not be soaked in water for a long time. Although it also says 'LED gloves last about 30 hours' they're talking about the batteries which you can replace. I opened one battery compartment with the included screwdriver and find each glove uses two CR2016 batteries which are easy to find on Amazon.

And now for something completely different!

On today's show Leo said "If you put your smart phone right in front of your eyes, it would look like a big TV."

Actually it was easy to do about 10 years ago if you bought a "TV Hat". It was like a baseball, expect to had an 8 to 10" brim, and side curtains that came down to block out the light. Your phone mounted on a side so you move it back and forth for the best focus. And I'm not positive but I think it also had build in earbuds so you could have better audio than your phone speaker had.

BriteBrush - A bright idea to get kids to brush properly.

Parents, having trouble getting the kids to brush their teeth? The BriteBrush GameBrush could help that big time! There are Music Modes to keep your child brushing, plus 6 other games. And I bet their current toothbrush doesn't offer live feedback and side change recognition as they brush! The better they brush, the more games you can unlock. There are a total of Seven Fun Games - Space Attack, Soccer, Pinball, Dance Star, Punch Master, Race Car Rally, Rockstar Jam, and Arcade Legends! But wait, there's more! Kids may think it's sneaky, but it wasn't designed for them. It's the “Parent Check Light.” After the kids finishing brushing, the BriteBrush lets you know how they’ve done. There's an Extra Brush Head included in the box. And the brush has soft bristles to help protect teeth and gums. Recommended Age 5+. BriteBrush also has a Baby Shark brush too. MSRP $19.99.

Meet the "My 1st Camera Insta 2"

When the company asked me if I wanted to try out their new myFirst Camera Insta 2 12MP Kid's Instant Print Camera, I said sure, sounds good to me! What's neat about this camera is it uses thermal printing paper so a black & white print can as little as a penny if you buy the paper in bulk! (It shoots color photos, but it doesn't print in color.) It also supports microSD cards up to 32GB. As you'll see in this week's show the photos are not great, but I think kids will love this camera. And if you happen to take a great photo, then use the SD card to print out a reallySelfie from MyFirst Camera decent copy. But kids will also love the 10-second printing! You get 3 rolls of thermal paper in the box with the camera insta 2, good for 240 shots. But wait, there's more! There's also full HD video recording with sound, dual lens for selfies, and choice of 3, 6, 9 or 12 MP setting. You'll learn about more features on this week's show. It comes in pink & teal, which the company calls blue. MSRP is $99.90. There was a $10 off the price of the camera for signing up for their newsletters when I visited the company website but I don't know how long that will be up there. Also for now it seems only to be available there, as of 6/19/20.

On last week's Tech Guy I said I got screwed with something I bought on Amazon. This week I just buy screws -- a lot of them!

I have a pair of glasses I love. I'll been unable to buy a second pair because these glasses are years old and I don't see them anywhere online. But I couldn't wear them because of a missing screw that seperated one of the earpieces from the rest of the frame. So on to Amazon where I saw something they ask: Perfect repair kit? It comes with 6 different sized precision magnetic eyeglass screwdrivers, a 1000 pieces of eyeglasses screws, nuts, and both metal and plastic washers. There's even a multi-function micro screwdriver that can fit on a keychain, tweezers, and a glasses cleaning cloth. I was able to fix my glasses in a 'good enough way' as you'll see in this week's show. So this kit is good eyeglass and sunglasses repair and most likely for other things like electronic, computer, and jewelry repair, or fixing anything with micro screws. The screws are said to be made of stainless steel, so they may or may not be attracted by the magnetic screwdrivers. The one screw I needed was. The entire kit was under $10 on 6/13/20, but that price could change at any time.

Another quick & easy way to repair glasses at the temple.

Before I bought that eyeglass repair kit on Amazon (above) to fix my eyeglasses, I spend hours looking for another eyeglass repair kit I had from years ago. I couldn't even remember the name of it, so I bought the one I talked about earlier in this show. Then right after I fixed my glasses I was looking in a box from Dick's Gadget warehouse and there it was - the Snapit eyeglass repair kit! It's billed as the easiest and quickest way to repair your spectacles. (Actually, it is a very clever idea.) You simply drop the extra long screw in the hinge, screw it down and snap the end off. The screw is very long, so it's easy to do. You'll see how it's down in the company video that's on this week's show. I picked this as my warehouse video, because I met the inventor ten years ago! I believe it is the lady in the video. She told me she spent $250,000 to get her product to market. Surprise! It's still available online. The kit come packaged in a little tube. The tube includes 5 screws of varying lengths and thicknesses, plus a handy screwdriver. They say it will fit 99% of all glasses, reading glasses and sunglasses. So now you have another option to fix broken glasses if it's a screw problem. And they're both under $10.
