WINNERS (Who live in the U.S.) get the February 2020 issue of MAD. It contains The MAD 20, the dumbest things of 2019. That part of the issue is new, the rest of the issue is MAD favorites of the past. MAD moved to LA December 2017, but I'm still writing for them from my Gizneyland studio in NYC. I'm continuing the WTHII game and sending out MAD magazines to winners since so many people say they love to play it. Sadly winners of MAD magazine are for US addresses only. (MAD postage to Canada was $11.00+ last year to send one copy.) If you live in the US, email me your full name & address and put MAD WINNER in the subject so I can pick it out easily. I'll autograph your MAD with your first name & my name unless you specify "Dick's name only". If you'd rather have one of those 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman pictures, instead of February MAD, put "SEND ALFRED PIC NOT MAD" in the subject line. Soon, they will be no more of those either. The remaining Alfred E pics were shipped to MAD in LA. If you won more than once using different names, please just ask for one MAD. If you live anywhere outside of the US email me with WINNER in the subject line and I'll autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email it to you. You can print it out & no one should know the difference. (I've done it quite a few times already and people say it looks fine.) Or, another choice is OMGchad & I can give you a shout out on the Giz Wiz Show as your prize if you want. (Tell me in your email.) Thanks! Dick De.

Here's the new Nov/Dec 2019 "What The Heck Is It?" Game.

This game has ended. A new one will be up soon! A touch later than usual because of the New Year. And Happy New Year to you!

Do you know 'what the heck it is'? To play, come up with the right answer, or make up a silly, or inventive answer that we find funny or clever that describes the gizmo shown. We give away up to 18 autographed copies of MAD Magazine. (Up to 6 for the correct answer, up to 12 for cute, silly answers.) The judges have very small attention spans, so make sure entries are no more than 25 words, and please make just one guess per entry. You must sign your entry with a nickname, screen name, fake name, or even real name, but sign it! If it's not signed, it's not eligible. You'll be playing for the February 2020 issue of MAD - issue #11 of new MAD produced by the LA staff. (That issue will have the  'MAD 20' in it, the Dumbest Things of 2019. The MAD 20 is all new material, while some of that issue will be reprints of MAD favorites from the past. (I'm in that MAD 20 satire.) Remember, right answers and cute or clever wrong answers can win too! Please be sure to put " WTHII" in the subject line so we can pick it out quickly. And good luck! E-mail your entry to

gizwizbiz@gmail.com by midnight (EST) December 31st 2019. By entering you agree this is a game for fun and laughs. Winning answers are published on this website the 1st or 2nd of January 2020, so come back to see if you won. Because like MAD, we're really low budget here, we can only mail winning copies to United States addresses. Please don't answer on this website; it won't count. Good Luck! Winners outside the US can have their names included as a "shout-out" on an upcoming Giz Wiz Show as their prize. Or have a 38+ year old Alfred E. Neumn photo autographed to them, scanned and emailed to you. Again, sign your entry with something - initials, first name, last name, full name, fake name, screen name, something or it won't count. We cut & paste the answers in a long list, so we need a name attached to it. Thanks for understanding.Once again entries go to: gizwizbiz@gmail.com

Winners of the Sept/Oct "What The Heck Is It?" game we picked who had the correct answer.

I thought shooting those glasses in the Sept/Oct game face down would throw people off, but it didn't! More than 50 people knew the right answer. We picked six from those answers that closely matched what they were sold as, which is Paparazzi Glasses, or censored glasses to hide your identify.

    Correct answers we picked:

They are ‘Censored’ Papparazi Glasses. Lynne Miller

Those are sunglasses to hide your identity like when you put a black bar on the eyes of people in pictures. Alexis Javier

Black Bars - Censor Bar Glasses - Zerje from Wisconsin

I’m guessing “CENSORED” sunglasses? - Herb

They are black bar glasses that are an errant attempt to protect one's identity in public. Brian "Ringmaster" Burwell

    Black Bar Censor Glasses ThatGuyBry42

    They're about $10, or 2 for $15.00 on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2Nf051B

Winners above, see how to claim your MAD magazine below the 'Cute, Silly, Could Be answers' below.
