    Episode 901

    Bestest Time
Dick had the bestest time in California, what with the Wine Train, the Tesla Roadster drive, the Wild Planet tour, and the meet-up at Jillian's Billiards, where he met Barbara Snyder, whose brother Dave Snyder happens to be Dick's neighbour who is in the Gizneyland studio watching the recording.  Next time, Leo will take Dick to a special behind-the-scenes tour of Alcatraz, run by TWiT listener Ranger Craig.

    Floppies
Dick's first floppy was made by Verbatim.  Leo remembers that the Mac used to make 3.5" hard-shell diskettes with a storage of 400KB, then 800KB (double-sided), and finally the PC made 1.44MB diskettes (HD diskettes).  Predating those of course were bigger floppies with even tinier storage capacities.

    Meeting the Tesla Roadster
Darrell and Marilyn Holmquist brought their Tesla Roadster to Petaluma for everyone at TWiT to have a test run, including Dane, Tony and Colleen.  Everyone loved the car.  It left about 200 miles worth of engine power for their 170 miles journey back home, but they made it.  The Roadster engine, by the way, is about the size of a water melon.  Dick loves the silent acceleration of the Roadster.  Colleen, who is a bit of car buff herself, finds the Tesla easily the nicest car she has ever tried.

    Ideas for a Podcast
Darrell Holmquist himself used to a computer technician and programmer, and for him the TWiT Network has replaced the radio, keeeping him up to date with the latest technology.  All Leo needs now is an electric car netcast, or a more general "going green" netcast.
