What do you do if you're dining alone, and you start to choke?

I found The Heimlich Helper while roaming the aisles at the National Hardware Show. The gentlemen at the show told me it was invented by a man who saved a friend’s life while he was choking during a meal. The man who had performed the Heimlich maneuver started to wonder, “what happens if someone is choking and there is no one there to apply the Heimlich Maneuver?” So he invented a self-assist choking emergency device as the solution. The Heimlich Helper is designed to allow an individual to self-administer a Heimlich maneuver type upward abdominal thrust to remove a breathing obstruction in their throat. Heimlich Helper is lightweight and simple to use. You can push it against yourself, or position the rubber tip at the top against a wall and push into that. It’s perfect for people who live and dine alone. There’s no upkeep because it requires no batteries, wires or electricity. A mounting bracket and instruction manual is included. There are also instructions right on the device itself. It’s under $36 at Amazon.com. That Amazon link is a TWiT link; you pay the same price, but TWiT gets a pittance if you end up ordering one.
