My Gululu - the smart water bottle designed for kids.

Gululu says it's the world's first interactive water bottle that helps keep kids hydrated with a new 3D version. According to a recent study by the Harvard School of Public Health, over half of all children are under hydrated, which may contribute to poor health, cognitive problems and poor emotional development. Gululu helps children stay hydrated by caring for a virtual pet and it keeps parents informed of their children’s progress through a connected app. As kids drink more water from Gululu, their chosen virtual pets grow and make friends. The new 3D version gives vivid life to the virtual pets and more engaging drinking and interaction experiences to the kids. Kids embark on new journeys in the Gululu universe, where they win more collectables and rewards, and explore more stories. And this is a great idea: To advance its mission to hydrate the kids of the world, Gululu formed a strategic partnership with http://www.generosity.org/. For every Gululu interactive bottle purchased, a child in a developing country will be provided with clean drinking water for life. The spokesperson at the show said Gululu will drill a well next to school the kid attends. The first Gululu project is underway now in Peru. Gululu is now available on Amazon exclusively and b8ta stores in the U.S. $129.00

Chad's Crappy Corner & His New Theme For September, 2017

For September, Chad's Crappy Corner gadgets will be decided by our loyal Patreon members. They can fill out a short form suggesting a gadget Chad should buy and use as his “Crappy Gadget Of The Week”. This week a member suggested Chad buy and try The Eggsact Egg Timer.

Here's what Amazon said about it: The Eggsact timer by Hammerhead Products is so simple and easy to use, you will wonder how you ever made eggs without it! Simply place the easy to read timer in a pot of boiling water with your eggs and wait! The color will change from red to purple starting with the outside and moving towards the center. When the color change reaches your desired spot on the scale of soft to hard boiled, simply take your perfectly cooked eggs out and enjoy! The Eggsact Eggtimer is proudly Made in The USA!

And Chad's take: Chad liked this a lot and he hard-boiled three eggs to test it out. As you'll see in the video he was concerned that he wouldn't be able to tell the 'hardness' of the boiled eggs via the color changing rings. But he found it was very easily to do through the boiling water. Chad also like the price, just $5.99 on Amazon, even cheaper at Bed, Bath & Beyond at $4.99. Amazon offers free shipping, not Prime, but it's an 'add-on item. Bed Bath & Beyond ships for free on orders over $29.00. All in all Chad thought this was something that eggsactly did what it was supposed to do.

Dick's Gadget Warehouse & How to Submit Your Viewer Video.

Cellboost Instant Power Battery for Portable Phones

Before all the hundreds of external battery chargers that most of us have several of, there was Cellboost. It was introduced at CES 2003 or 2004 and it was an instant hit. This little device, about the size of a cigarette lighter could simply be plugged into your cellphone where it would let you enjoy 40 to 60 minutes of talk time and about 60 hours of standby time. But there was one big drawback. It was for one time use only! When it ran out of power, it's was thrown away. But it was great for travelers or anyone on the go. There were dozens of models, because each phone needed its own special connector. It sold for about $6.00 and was light-weight and easy to carry.

*******************************

We’re looking for more Viewer Videos!

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

-

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video!

IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
