For the next three shows we're going to be looking at gadgets slated to come out between now and the holidays. These were all on display at “The Holiday Spectacular!” the largest NY Pepcom Event of the year. We start with two new Lenovo Yoga books, with keyboards you never saw before. 

The new Lenovo Yoga Book is really slender as you'll see in the video. Lenovo says it's the world’s thinnest 2-in-1, the Yoga Book is 9.6mm closed, tapering to 4.05mm at its slimmest edge – a thickness of just under three pennies. It's also lightweight at 690 grams (1.52 pounds), so you can easily hold and carry it like a book. It has a15-hour battery life and a unique watchband hinge that folds 360 degrees. It features a 10.1-inch IPS FHD screen, and sound enhanced with Dolby Atmos. The halo keyboard lacks any physical keys, showing up as a solid white outline on the Yoga Book’s second panel only when it’s needed. Built-in, sensitive haptic technology, enables touch feedback to guide typing and reduce mistakes. Users can also write with the real-pen accessory that holds real ink tips onto a piece of paper or notepad covering the multi-use keyboard panel, or as a stylus when applied straight onto the panel. Everything they create, from doodles and drawings to notes, is instantly digitized and saved with the Lenovo note-saving app.The real-pen accessory is powered by Wacom feel™ IT technologies to work with the state-of-the-art electro-magnetic resonance (EMR) film housed within the multi-use keyboard, which enables this real-time digitization. Yoga Book’s is powered by an Intel Atom X5 processor and offers 4GB of memory. And Windows users also have the option to work on that platform, as the Yoga Book is available on Windows 10. It has 64GB of memory. Pricing for the Yoga Book will start at €499 for the Android version and €599 for the Windows version. In the US, the Yoga Book will be sold online by the end of October.

Switchmate says they have a one-second installation smart light.

There is a 'toggle' and a 'rocker' model. (There are pictures on Amazon.) These are only for single light switches and not for dimmers.

Chad's Crappy Corner and another gadget for his new theme for September.

Chad polled our devoted Patreon members and for his September theme they picked “Cheap Hobby Gadgets”. Chad's gadget this week is the Electric Plane Launcher Kit. 

Amazon says this: Explore the science of aeronautics with the 4M Electric Plane Launcher Kit. This exciting science kit uses spinning motors and plastic discs to launch a paper airplane at speeds up to 30 mph. The kit contains everything needed to construct a paper airplane launcher. Just add paper planes and watch them fly. Detailed assembly instructions included. Requires two AA batteries (not included). Recommended for ages 14 years and up. It was $11.89 with Amazon Prime as of 9/19/16. 

And Chad's take? Chad called this the most crappiest of the crappiest gadgets, perhaps ever. The instructions are the worst. They give you some wires you don't need and tell you go find some other wires that you do need, and are not in the kit. As you'll see in the video, once built, the Electric Plane Launcher never works properly most times when you try to fly a paper airline. And the instructions tell you to cut the nose off every paper airline you make. Why? For safety reasons! So when they do fly, they don't go very far. This is a loser! Chad bought it here:

Dick's Gadget Warehouse & How to Submit Your Viewer Video.

We're not done talking about Arc Lighters yet. One viewer told me there's a whole assortment of Arc Lighters over at eBay. And they're much cheaper than the ones on Amazon. And on the the last Giz Wiz show we asked Brian Horovitz if he would send us a viewer demo of his crisscross arc light, and he did!

Here is the video of the cross arc lighter I bought from Amazon although i noticed when watching the show I must have copied the wrong link because although they look identical, the lighter I bought is branded Pard not Kivors - oh well just another one of thous products that is made by one manufacture and re branded lots of times. I enjoy the show every week and have been watching since the first episode back when it was the Daily GizWiz.
