The Giz Wiz Show 1650 for November 24th, 2017, Our 133rd Independent Production.

We're well into our third year of Independent Production thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters! If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/. You can also contribute just once via the PayPal link that's there too. And thank you for doing that! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support, but a bit more support would be a big help.

This week we have three unique gadgets ideas from another Pepcom Event. This one was called Wine, Dine & Demo! It was held in NYC, November 26, 2017 at the Metropolitan Pavilion, a very convenient events venue.

Meet the Guardzilla 360 degree security camera

The Guardzilla 360 video monitoring system has been named a CES 2018 Innovation Awards Honoree. The product is said to be the first-ever all-in-one security and monitoring system on the market that delivers full 360-degree live HD viewing and motion detection capabilities. Most typical WiFi video security systems offer a 130-150 degree of view and protection, the Guardzilla 360 provides a live 360-degree field of view plus night vision and motion detection with instant phone alerts. The new system also features a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way conversing with friends, family and maybe even the pet through the Guardzilla app. The device also has three programmable call buttons for instant push notifications to smartphones (e.g. mom, dad, etc.). But wait, there's more. There's a 100dB alarm to deter intruders and it offers geo-fencing capability. You can arm or disarm the system via the smartphone app. And if you miss a motion event alert Guardzilla’s Video Cloud Storage retains 8 second video clips of all motion events for two days – for free! These can be downloaded to a smartphone for permanent storage. But if you’re looking for longer motion event videos with audio they offer subscription programs for as low as $4.99 a month. App works on Android and iOS. Compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, IFTTT, Works with Nest and Samsung SmartThings $229.99. Many major retailers and online at Amazon.

Kodak Printomatic - another way to print instant pictures.

A few weeks ago we talked about the new Polaroid POP camera with instant printing. Now Kodak introduces a much-less featured camera, but at a much lower price. Seems Kodak is now part of C+A Global. And they say that the new Kodak Printomatic Camera is the first of the full product lineup to be launched in 2017 and continue into 2018. This camera is designed to bring back the nostalgia of capturing and sharing Kodak Moments and putting the print in the palm of your hand seconds after it happens. The prints from this camera are 2” X 3”, about half the size of the Polaroid print, but also at about half the cost; roughly 50 cents a picture. They also have a peel-off sticky back. Here are some of the features of the new 10-megapixel Printomatic camera: Built-in flash / Built-in lithium ion battery / prints in color or black & white / Low battery indicator / MicroSD card slot and indicator / Available in gray or yellow. MSRP $69.99 USD at major retailers and online including Amazon. IMPORTANT: The press release says: The camera comes with a USB cable, a Quick Start Guide, a 10-pack of KODAK ZINK Photo Paper and a memory card. Some people online said it did not come with a memory card, but some said it did. I checked with the PR firm and they said it doesn't come with a SD card, and that the camera does not have any built-in memory. But, a 16 GB micro-SD card is under $10 on Amazon if you don't already have an extra micro SD card.

Chad's Crappy Corner & Another Gadget For His November Theme!

Our loyal Patreon's picked "Cheap Kitchen Gadgets" for Chad's November theme. And his 3rd gadget of the month is the Jokari Deluxe Soda Can Protection Caps.

Here what Amazon says about the Jokari Deluxe Soda Can Protection Caps: Protect your soda and keep it fizzy too using these useful little can caps from Jokari. The set consists of four caps, of assorted colors, all of which clip onto the top of a can to seal off the opening with a grate. This grate helps to keep out debris, and a flip top can close over the grating to help keep in fizz and elongate the life of your drink. Perfect for soda, carbonated water, and more, this set of caps is the perfect addition to any kitchen. A set of 4 is under $5 as of 11/24/17 on Amazon.

And Chad's take: Chad liked these although he wished a bit of soda didn't leak out when you turned the can on it's side. You'll see in Chad's video in this week's show, they lock onto a can with a loud 'click' and the cover that fits over the opening of the soda can also clicks shut, but still a bit of soda can leak out when turned on it's side. However, if you knocked a can of soda over without one of these Jokari caps you would have a real mess on your hands. Chad also liked that the four covers in the set are four different colors so you can keep track of which soda can is yours at a gathering. And they're inexpensive at only 4 for about $5.00. All in all Chad things they're 'okay'.

Dick's Gadget Warehouse & How to Submit Your Viewer Video.

This week's Gadget Warehouse video is from a viewer who didn't find an old phone in his basement or closet. He found a new phone --- an Android phone with a lot of features for about $55 US. And yes, it's brand new! Here's his email and link to his video:

+++++++++++++++++++++++

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

-

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (After December 15, 2017, they'll be something else MAD sent with your Alfred E. Neuman photo. And unfortunately, after that date, we can only send to US addresses. MAD is moving to California, so our supplies will be greatly limited.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
