Here's a way to help kids enjoy their first experience being under water running over their head. (Some find it a scary experience.)

Rubber Duckie & Friends are cute gentle-flow bath & shower wands for kids. They’re designed to help parents who have kids who are intimidated by having shampoo rinsed from their hair or are afraid of the transition from taking a bath to taking a shower. Each of the five Rubber Duckie & Friends shower wands offer a soft, gentle spray pattern and low 1.5 gpm flow rate. Each kit comes complete with shower wand, movable mount, 6-foot universal hose, 2-way water flow diverter, and plumber’s tape for easy installation. You can see all five Rubber Duckie & Friends shower wands at the company website. Each: $24.99. They're available at the company website now, and will be coming to stores over the next several months.

No Longer available.

The power strip/surge protector that can blend in with your hardwood floors.

I talked about the original Invisplug power strip, which is designed to blend in with hardwood floors, right after last year's National Hardware Show. That model is still available, but now there's a new Deluxe version which adds several features. The Invisiplug Deluxe, which is available in three wood grain finishes (light natural, medium cherry, and dark oak) now adds two 2.1 Volt USB charging ports. There are still six three-pronged outlets, but like the original, they are not spaced widely apart, so it's unlikely you'll be able to use all six. But now you also get a pair of LED indicator lights that will indicate that your line is grounded and that the surge protector is working. There is 900 joules of  surge protection in the Delux model, twice what the original has. Invisiplug Deluxe retails for about $24.99.

Chad's Crappy Corner! Another gadget that fits Chad's theme this month: Things that light up.

Wow, this looks great! First, here’s what Amazon says about it.

Skywriter UFO Remote Control Helicopter. Look, up in the sky! Unique LED technology flashes customized messages up to 20 words (170 characters) in midair. Infrared controller with keypad and LCD screen. Internal lithium-polymer battery recharged through controller. Controller powered by 6 AAA batteries (not included). Is this how aliens text their friends? Our Skywriter UFO flyer projects midair messages of up to 20 words (170 characters) while hovering above amazed onlookers. Just use the wireless controller's keypad to enter your message. The Skywriter's LED technology makes each character come to life, pulsing with a mesmerizing strobe effect. Incredible for night displays or special events! Flies up, flies down and hovers for easy visibility. Designed with a stable airframe that's simple to fly, the Skywriter UFO flyer will give you hours of unearthly fun. Its internal lithium-polymer battery is easily recharged through the infrared controller, which is powered by 6 AAA batteries (not included) and features a keypad and LCD screen for programming customized messages anything from "Happy Birthday" to "Take me to your leader." For ages 8 years old and up. Warning: This product may contain small parts which may pose a choking hazard to children. Share a Close Encounter today. $25.23 and Amazon Prime. So free shipping if you’re a Prime Member.

And Chad’s take? Chad liked it, and so did I. Chad said you don't have a lot of control over where it flies, but for a little demo there is a way to hold it in place and watch the messages changes. It seemed to crash a lot, but lived to fly again. You can program up to 20 different words, each up to 7 letters, and send them to the Skywriter one at a time. Chad actually clicked back and forth between our names and it looked very cool. Chad said it's IR controlled, so you have to be able to point the remote directly at the Skywriter. For just a bit over $25 this seems like a decent toy. Reviews on Amazon are very mixed, so you can check them out too.

Dick's Gadget Warehouse. And how to submit your video to the show.

Howdy Dick and Chad.  I had a previous video quite a while ago (pre-crap reward era) where I showed my ancient processors ... and since you're running out here is some more.

But first ... in my first submission I talked about George P. Burdell, the fictitious student at Georgia Tech who was listed as being on MAD Magazine's Board of Directors.   Here's a bit more back story for you Dick, and some "proof" from Ripley's:
http://www.ripleys.com/weird/daily-dose-of-weird-wtf-blog/odd-history-and-mysteries/george-p-burdell-georgia-techs-most-accomplished-ficticious-alum/   The two best parts of his legacy are that he holds every single degree (bachelors, masters, doctorate) that Georgia Tech has ever offered (for real!) and when Georgia Tech switched to computerized enrollment, they thought they'd end the spree of classes taken by George P. Burdell.  Not so!  In fact, in the first year that Georgia Tech switched to computerized class registration, George P. Burdell signed up for EVERY SINGLE CLASS (an impressive 3,000 credit hours in one semester). Now that is a prodigious course load!

Now ... on to my crap!

                                                +++++++++++

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show

Here’s what we’re looking: Your home shoot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

My Favorite Gadget of All Time: Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be something you just bought too.

Post them on YouTube and send our producer, Jason, the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you will now be awarded with some sort of prize. Like an autographed MAD magazine and some piece of crap. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video!

All show submissions go to gizwiz@twit.tv
