Dick's Gadget Warehouse. And how to submit your video to the show.

I don’t think the Sit ‘N Sip combination sports seat and cooler made it to the market. It was an interesting device that may have been a bit off-putting. It let you carry lemonade, coffee, water, etc. into an event and then sit on it. Yes, it was a plastic cooler shaped exactly like a seat cushion. Using it was a little strange too. This was some 30 years ago and I had a product sample borrowed from Sharper Image. I showed the Sit “N Sip on the CBS Morning Show. As a demo, the weatherman sat on it as I talked about it. I told him he could serve coffee from his Sit ‘N Serve cushion, which turned out to look really funny as he put the cup between his legs to fill it from the spout at the front of the seat. It got a lot of laughs from the cast and crew. The reason I think this device never made into the marketplace is a listing I found on eBay which reads in part: “Excellent/Like-New Condition. This original prototype 2-in-1 Sit 'n Sip cooler/sports cushioned seat is a great gift for your favorite soccer mom or sports aficionado. Attractive and sturdy, this insulated cooler has plenty of room for your favorite drinks. Measures 17 1/2" x 15" x 6 1/2". Has removable, machine-washable handled cup, push-button dispenser, and adjustable canvas shoulder strap.” I think the list price was $39.99, but the Ebay listing is for $49.99 + $20 shipping. I guess it’s a rare gadget. I had to return mine after the CBS show.

Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professionally made videos please. It makes us look even worse than we are.  

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.   

 My Favorite Gadget of All Time: Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be something you just bought too.    

Post them on YouTube and send our producer, Jason, the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz, you will be rewarded with some sort of prize. Like an autographed MAD magazine and maybe even some piece of crap. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video! I think the offer to receive crap & MAD is for the US and Canada only. I'll check when we record this show! But anyone, anywhere can submit their videos for the show!
