The Giz Wiz Show 1627 for June 16th 2017, Our 110th Independent Production.

We're into our third year of Independent Production thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters! If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/ You can also contribute just once via the PayPal link that's there too. And thank you for doing that! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support, but a bit more support would be a big help.

Ahoy, Matey! On this episode three boating gadgets, but good for RV's too.

Everybody need a good bucket for cleaning up and for storage between cleanings.

The Shurhold One Bucket System is a very clever idea. It's a UV resistant bucket with a padded lid, so it can double as a seat. Plus there's an optional base so the bucket won't tip or slide around on a bumpy road, or in rought water. From the company: The Shurhold Deluxe ONE Bucket System includes: World's Best Rope Handle 5 gallon Bucket in black or white. Bucket Lid / Padded Seat combo Bucket Base (So your bucket won't slip or tip) Bucket Grate (Keeps your wash utensils in clean water) Bucket Caddy (Keeps everything you store in your bucket organized) MSRP: $59.99

The Giz Wiz Is A Fan of this Fan.

The Caframo Sirocco II (II is new version) 7" 12 and 24 Volt fan features a unique gimbaled design that allows airflow to be directed in any direction of the cabin - 360°. I like that it can also be folded flat and out of the way against the bulkhead when not in use. It's a 3 speed fan with an extra features I really like. A 3, 6, 9, and 12 hour timer setting. I used to worry about leaving the cabin fan on when I left the battery which would mean coming back to a dead battery. But with the timer setting it will go off automatically after the number of hours you choose. It has manual on/off too if you want that. The is also very quiet and the blades shouldn't hurt your fingers if for some reason you (or maybe the kid's stick their fingers in.) I stuck my fingers in and they stopped the blades with doing any damage, as least to my fingers. This is a premium fan that should last for years. MSRP is $129.99, but it's available for under $100 online.

And of course, Davis is famous for ----

The self-inflating Key Buoy.  It can help can end the nightmare of keys dropped overboard. Even if your keys are on the Key Buoy, if you drop them into the drink, they disappear from view. But wait about 30 seconds to a minute and your keys start to be retreived from the bottom. Once you see that inflated orange tube breaking the surface you have approximately 25 minutes to grab them. (It starts to deflate after about 30 minutes.) I wondered how it worked. The guys at the Davis Instrument booth were happy to explain. When you drop the Key Buoy in the water, a tiny piece of sponge inside the device expands and forces the plastic clam shell to open. When it opens, a tightly folded 14” plastic tube is released. Then a small tablet which contains baking soda dissolves. This creates a gas that fills the tube that floats your keys. The package says the Key Buoy is suitable for items weighing up to 2.8 ounces. That's about as many as 5 keys. Davis Instruments said you can even attach them to other things that often fall in the water like the water fill or gas cap key providing it doesn't weight more than 2.8 ounces. We that in this week's photo shoot for World News Now and it did work. These are single use devices, but cost $7 TO $10. And if it saves your keys, I think you'll say it's worth it! This gadget has been around for a long time, but I figured a lot of people probably don't know about, so I'm showing it again. As reporters say: If you never saw it before, it's a 'new gadget'!

Chad's Crappy Corner & Two More Gadgets For His Theme For June, 2017.

Chad came up with a different idea for the June theme. He polled our loyal Patreon members and had them vote of a type of store Chad where should buy all the gadgets for the month of June. That way listeners would have a better chance of finding the same item Chad reviewed at a store near them. Our Patreon members picked “Large Drug Store Chains” as the place Chad should find Cheap Gadgets for June. So at his local Walgreen's Drug Store Chad bought two gadgets.

The Rapid Brownie Baker is said to be the world's fastest and easiest way to bake brownies! Everyone loves fresh baked goods, but precise measurements, long bake times, and dirty dishes can be major turn offs. This product solves all of these problems! The Rapid Brownie Easy Ingredient Box uses fill lines to take measuring and guess work completely out of the equation. The Rapid Brownie Baker Pan then bakes perfect brownies in the microwave in just 3:30 minutes! $4.99 is what Chad paid at Walgreen's.

And Chad's take? The Rapid Brownie Baker turned out to work better than the Beer Chiller Stick. As you'll see in the video, Chad mixed all the ingredients in the one measuring container and then baked the brownies in the provided baking dish. And yes in 3:30 minutes he had baked brownies, although they didn't raise newly as high as shown in the box photo. Chad said they tasted pretty good right out of the oven, but after a while became as hard as a brick! So eat them fast.

Beer Chill Stick  First the hype: Gone are the days of warm beers! Hoorah we hear you say. This incredible invention allows you to instantly cool your beer whilst you drink from it and don't worry it stays cold until the very last sip. To use, freeze your Chill Stick for about an hour. Before use take a drink of beer to make room for the Chill Stick. Insert the Chill Stick into the bottle. Press firmly to create a tight seal. Note: Use caution when first inserting as some beers may foam up slightly. Enjoy your cold beer from the first sip to the last.

And Chad's take? Chad didn't have as much luck with the Beer Chill Stick. He followed the instructions and found it made the beer less warm, but not chilled. Perhaps the use would be to keep cold beer colder longer by inserting the Chill Stick right after removing a beer from the refrigerator. Chad paid $7.99 for his at Walgreens. I couldn't find it on the Walgreen's website, but I found what looks like the same items on Amazon.

Back To Dick's Gadget Warehouse - and how to submit your video!

Dick's Gadget Warehouse.

We had no viewer videos submitted (from first timers) this week, so the Giz Wiz went back to the original gadget warehouse and found a piece of silliness from about 25 years ago. And as you'll see in the video, it's still being sold today!

That's pretty amazing for a gadget to be around for that long, but perhaps the fact that it's not electronic has a lot of to do with it not going out of style in a year or two.

We’re looking for more Viewer Videos!

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

-

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video!

IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
