The Giz Wiz Show 1628 for June 23rd 2017, Our 111th Independent Production.

We're into our third year of Independent Production thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters! If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/ You can also contribute just once via the PayPal link that's there too. And thank you for doing that! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support, but a bit more support would be a big help.

And now a look at three new tech gadgets from Pepcom's Digital Experience, New York City, June 15th, 2017.

Carry four cameras recording video with you wherever you go! Meet Occly.

Here's info from the company, (edited a bit): Occly Blinc is an advanced wearable personal safety system designed to help keep users safe and protected while on-the-go, traveling, on-the-job, or at home. Specifically designed to be a visual deterrent, it can be worn on the body or clipped to an accessory. Occly Blinc is armed with a panic button, four always-on cameras and microphone, sirens, LED lighting, wireless capabilities, and a number of automatic alarm sensors. It’s companion mobile app provides real-time access to the Occly Safety Network for prevention, while its alarm initiates the Occly Rescue Protocol, which offers real-time access to the Occly Emergency Response Center and ultimately an emergency dispatch to local law enforcement. Occly Blinc also doubles as a home security system, with real-time audio and video recording inside your home (or hotel room). It offers access to the Occly Rescue Protocol when activated by the included sound, motion or impact sensors. Price is $199.99, after the introductory $50 off offer.

The Monoprice feature packed MP Select Mini 3D Printer V2.

The folks at Monoprice say that too often, getting a low-cost 3D printer can mean getting a box of ill-fitted parts with poorly written and incomplete documentation. You end up spending hours on the internet, searching forums and asking for help to get the printer assembled and operating properly. Monoprice operates differently and their MP Select Mini 3D Printer V2 is a perfect example! This 2nd generation model printer not only comes fully assembled, it has already been calibrated at the factory. All you have to do is perform a quick check to verify that the print bed is still leveled, in case it shifted during shipping, then load the included microSD card, load some filament, and start printing the preloaded model. Nowhere else will you find a 3D printer ready to print out of the box at such a low price! Other features include Insulated and heated built plate with pre-installed build mat, Nozzle cooling fan and main board cooling fan, and accessory kit with all-metal nozzle, Wi-Fi, microSD card, USB connectivity, and 3.7" IPS color screen. Tech Specs: 4.7" x 4.7" x 4.7" Build Area / Resolution: 100 microns (0.1mm) / Filament Diameter 1.75mm /Speed 55mm/sec / Connectivity Wi-Fi, microSD™ card, USB / Printable Materials ABS & PLA / Windows and Mac compatible. Compatible with Cura, Repetier, and other software $219.99. Watch the video of this week's show to learn a little about an even lower-priced 3-D Printer model coming August, 2017.

Flosstime is designed to help making flossing fun.

The company says Flosstime is the world’s first automated floss dispenser. (I don't know of any other.) With a single touch, the tech-looking circular device dispenses the American Dental Association-recommended 18 inches of floss, cuts it and sets a 90-second LED-timer. The LED moves around the device, indicating how long users should spend on each section of the mouth. After 90-seconds, Flosstime will light up with a smile as a reward for a job well done. After a 22-hour period of inactivity, an orange frown reminds the user that it is time to floss again. If unused after seven days, the device will automatically shoot out a length of floss. (But it stops short of yelling at you to floss!) The device can be set to single and dual-user modes. Flosstime keeps it fun and engaging for the kids, too. Each device comes with the choice of a frog, goldfish or crab snap-on frame. If not used every day, the animal’s eyes glow to remind kids to floss reinforcing healthy oral hygiene habits at an early age. Flosstime comes with a patent-pending replaceable cartridge containing 54.6 yd (50m) of comfort floss, which should last the daily flosser approximately three to four months. Although the gentlemen in the video said $30.00, it's $39.99 on the company website and on Amazon.

Chad's Crappy Corner & Another Gadget For His Theme For June.

Chad came up with a different idea for the June theme. He polled our loyal Patreon members and had them vote of a type of store Chad where should buy all the gadgets for the month of June. That way listeners would have a better chance of finding the same item Chad reviewed at a store near them. Our Patreon members picked “Large Drug Store Chains” as the place Chad should find Cheap Gadgets for June. So at his local CVS drug store Chad found these two, which the Giz Wiz also found on Amazon:

Cat Paw - The Friendly Yet Feisty Toy! Cat Paws are wildly fun! Creep out co-workers, amuse cat lovers and STUPEFY cats themselves with the amazing, bizarre, wonderful and super fun CAT PAW! Cat Paw is simply stated a cat's paw! With the slow pull of an activation lever the cat paw will move forward with a friendly cat sound; Push it quickly and the cat paw lunges forward with a roar! Cat paws move from friendly to feisty in no time! There are four furry styles to choose from, so find the right one for you! Each one includes 2 fun cat sounds. Go ahead we dare you! From $10 to $12.00.

Chad also bought Rust-Oleum Wipe New RainBrella. Here's what Amazon says about it:

Rust-Oleum wipe new rainbrella creates an umbrella for your windshield and other auto glass. Rainbrella is great at repelling rain, mud, dirt and other such substances on automotive and exterior residential glass. Product comes in an easy to use wipe-on treatment that creates a haze-free, crystal clear barrier over numerous glass surfaces. Durable, long lasting formula resists water and other substances allowing them to roll right off surface. Helps keeps surfaces clean and significantly improves visibility and safety in poor conditions. Size: 1.5 Oz. $6.88. Free shipping for Prime Members, but not Amazon Prime.

Amazon link: http://amzn.to/2t3lLG3 -As an Amazon Associate Giz Wiz Biz earns from qualifying Amazon purchases.

This never affects how we rate Amazon gadgets since we mostly buy everything we review.

And Chad's take? Chad had no idea what the Cat Paw was for, but he bought it because 'it was too stupid not to'. Besides it was a lot of laughs to demonstrate on The Giz Wiz as you'll see in this week's video. Also in this week's video you'll see Chad's demo of the RainBrella wipes. These Chad liked, and as his demo shows, really works. But it does take a bit of time to follow the instructions carefully. Thanks to editing Chad sped it up so you can see the results in just a few minutes. Maybe you could buy both and use the Cat Paw to apply the RainBrella, so mostly, not!

We’re looking for more Viewer Videos!

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.-

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video!

IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
