This is our 5th year of Independent Production! (First Giz Wiz show was February 20th, 2006.) Thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters we're now going into year 15. If it wasn't for our supporters the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. Hot Weather Getting To Your Kids? We Start the show with The Cooling Kid's Streaming Fountain.

It's not a swimming pool, but something they call a splash play mat. The QPAU Sprinkler Play Mat was under $30 when I bought it on Amazon. Kids love to play with water, especially during the hot weather, so this an easy way to let them do that. This 68" Splash Play Mat inflates and sprays water when connected to a garden hose. (No air pump needed.) It's designed to be placed on lawns so it's soft underneath for kid's play. The spray can be adjusted by the water pressure feeding the hose. It's great for hot weather fun for young kids age 3 to 5 (& up!). No where does the company mention how thick the PVC for the splash pad is, but online review mention, probably not rugged enough for dogs to play in. MSRP: $29.99, but it is usually selling for less online.

A Toy Locomotive With Lots Of Moving Parts!

Yes, this is a Model Locomotive like none every seen before! Via the company: CifToys Bubble Blowing Toy Train - Battery Powered Steam Bubbles Locomotive Engine with Colorful Lights & Fun Sounds - Constant Motion & Automatic Change of Direction – 3 and Up. This incredible, battery operated, bubble blowing train toy is a best gift for 3 year old boys and girls. This amazing bubble blowing steam train with interesting sounds and the striking, colorful, flashing led lights will carry our little friends away. This must have train toy challenges your babies to hop till they drop. Carefully designed to move constantly and automatically change direction once it bumps into an object, this crazy train toy is all about never ending fun.

From the Giz Wiz. It runs on 3 AA batteries, not included. And the instructions don't mention where the bubble mix goes, but it's under the bell as I saw after I turned the locomotive around. Only on one side of the bell is there an arrow pointing up that says “open”. No where does it say open it and pour the bubble liquid in there, but that does make the Toy Locomotive blow a lot of bubbles. With music, lights and train sound effects, it's great fun. Oh, and it's 'bump & go'. When it runs into something, it turns and goes in a different direction. About $20. Lots of vendors offer the same locomotive under different names.

4. Crappy Corner and his next Cheap Gadget for the July theme as picked by our loyal Patreons.

A perfect choice for Chad's July Cheap Gadget Theme is “Cheap Summer Solar Gadgets”.

Chad's third summer gadget is the QBUC Car Air Freshener Solar Energy Rotating Cologne Car Aroma Therapy Diffuser.

From the company: Interior Decoration Accessory Essential Oil Diffuser for Car / Home. Metal enclosure with solar technologyQBUC air freshner made of zinc alloy with solar fan blade robust and easy to install. Also as an aromatherapy, our air fresheners come with a Cologne aroma ring that improves air quality and keeps the air fresh, feel like in nature. Usually the aroma can about 1 month. Solar fan blades rotate automatically under the sunshine to accelerate the diffusion of the aroma.

And Chad's take?: Chad said this gadget is well built, feels rugged, but he was really disappointed in it's performance. As you'll see in the video, he shows us that the propeller on top has very little pitch and consequently doesn't seem to move any air he could feel. Also replacement aroma rings are very expensive, about 3 for $15.00. So this was one of Chad's best looking, worst working, cheap gadgets. Well not that cheap. Chad paid $22.00 for it.

Dick Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video & Win An Autographed MAD Magazine.

Our email with this week's viewer video is from Shane Bowling who writes:

Hey Dicky D and Chad

--here's a gadget that belongs in the warehouse. This e-bike was really great for people with low vision that can't quite pass their eye test.

I think they're no longer in business but you still can go see what they offered when they were selling them.

Here's the company website.  www.Organictransit.com

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.
-
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
-
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.
-
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
-
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you'll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it's a copy. We've tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you'll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
