A Big Ass Garage Light. Yep, that's the real name!

Ultra-bright and ruggedly built, this is the brightest garage light I've ever seen. High-efficiency LEDs put out 13,000 lumens, more light than 16 60-watt bulbs, and are rated to last for more than 70 years. The company says their single Garage Light fixture is powerful enough to provide crystal-clear illumination to a space up to 10x15 feet. And it's protected by a 7-year warranty. The light includes a 10 ft. power cord, S-hooks to fit the attached eyebolts, and a template to make installation quick and easy. MSRP $399.99. There's a $40 'occupancy sensor' option. It provides 360-degree motion detection, turning the light on automatically when you enter the space and off when you leave. This simple add-on gives your garage an extra level of safety and convenience.

And for elsewhere in the house: This Haiku Light fixture comes in several sleek finishes and installs conveniently into any can or standard flush setting. These fixtures conserve energy automatically by using onboard smart technology. The fixture's motion sensor reduces energy consumption by automatically turning on and off when you enter or leave a room. Full brightness equal 3 40 watt bulbs. Additionally, Haiku Lights have 16 brightness settings that adjust automatically. You can conveniently control these features using the included remote or the free Haiku Home app for iOS and Android. Available in many finishes and options, prices start at $149.00.

Tea for one. (Could be two.)

Brought to you with the return of Sam Ash, Perfect PR Person, (assuming you have a vivid imagination.) Last Week Sam told us about the Gourmia Coffee system, one maker that can brew coffee from many different manufacturers. On this week's show Sam talks about the up-coming Gourmia Gourmet Tea & Coffee Center. The company says that their new CTC8000 is gourmet small-batch coffee and tea center with a unique, elegant design. It has a metal basket designed for steeping loose-leaf tea, so you can use higher quality teas for better taste, while having the ability to make your own custom blends. Four one-touch settings make various strengths of tea depending on your preference. The instant heating system boils the water and brews your customer drink for fresh, delicious beverages in an instant. To help prevent spills, the cup sensor automatically shuts off when it's glass cup is removed. MSRP $129.99. This is a holiday item, so it's not out yet. And I couldn't find anything else about it when I searched online on 7/21/16.

A Gift That Can Keep On Giving.

I talked about World Vision a couple of years ago on The Giz Wiz. I was reminded about them when they were this year's Holiday Gift Guide with an 8 month old alpaca. You may wonder, as I did at first, what a live animal would be doing at a gift show. Brian explained that he was with World Vision, and that animals can be given as a holiday gift in a loved one’s name. The animal(s) will go to help families in need in the 100 countries where World Vision does humanitarian work.  For example you can give a goat for $75, which will provide a family with fresh milk daily and fertilizer too. I hesitantly asking why the family receiving the goat might not just decide to consume it for a few meals. But it turns out these in-need families understand a goat can constantly providing food, and when allowed to grow up and mate, results in more goats that can be given other needy families. I thought this was a great way to give.  For example, there's a goat/chicken package. No, it’s not a joke and it cost less than I imagined. A goat is $75 and with two chickens, it’s $100. (No tax, shipping or handling!) Looking through the World Vision Gift Catalog I saw gift ideas as low as $16. Most of them are gifts that keeps on giving. So for the person who has everything, this is the perfect gift. You don’t need to know their sizes, if they use iOS or Android, or have a tablet or PC!

I always wonder what percentage of the money you give goes to the charity. I found this video on the World Vision website and it seems a donation adds up to more than the amount you give. Check it out:

Chad's Crappy Corner and another gadget for his July theme: cheap Bluetooth gadgets.

Chad's July theme (As voted on by our loyal patrons) is “Cheap Bluetooth Gadgets”! Chad's 4th gadget of July is the Pandaoo U8 Bluetooth Smart Watch for Android Smartphones. (There's a version for iOS too.)

Here are some of the features as listed on Amazon.

HANDS-FREE PHONE CALL - When you watch the show you'll see Chad a demo of the voice quality.

FITNESS WATCH -Various health tracking app designed to monitoring the situation of your sleeping, walking. (Accelerometer,Passometer)

EASY BT CONNECTION -This watch complete compatible with Andriod smartphone(4.2 and Above) through Bluetooth(version 3.0)

MORE FEATURES -Bluetooth Phonebook & Message Sync,Calculator, Alarm Clock, Anti-lost Alarm, Music Player, Call History, Set Time/Date, SMS, MMS, Wechat, QQ. all functions fully supported by Andriod smartphone. but few functions not support by iPhone(Include Text Message, SMS, BT Music,Wechat, QQ, or Remote Camera)

KEY CONFIGURATION -1.48" TFT LCD Touch Screen to save the power, full charging the 230mAh rechargeable battery take about 1 hour, could support 3-hour phone call,6-hour music play, stand by 160 hours.

And Chad's take? Chad, along with most of the chatroom, thought this was a pretty good deal for a smart watch that cost less than $17.00 and looks pretty good. Chad bought the red version but said it's also available in black or white. The voice quality as you'll hear when you listen to this show is not the best, but hey, the watch is under $17.00! Chad pointed out that you have to download an APK app in order to use several of the features on the watch. The listing adds this about the app: Plz notice that Pandaoo U8 watch is compatible with iPhone and Android by bluetooth function but APK is only for android not for iPhone, which means part of functions can't work with iPhones. Chad also went through most of the features on the watch and they looked very good on camera. If you need a second smart watch, or an inexpensive smart watch for the kids, this is definitely one to check out.

The Giz Wiz adds: About ten months ago on The Giz Wiz I bought and reviewed the IRULU Bluetooth Smart Watch. It looked a lot like the one Chad has, but I don't remember it having so many features. Also the display on my watch dimmed badly after about a month because I don't think the whole screen was backlit, but relied on two itty-bitty LED's top and bottom. Chad said his watch had an actual backlit screen. Anyway, it doesn't matter much because the IRULU watch page says “no longer available” on Amazon.

***********************

We’re looking for more Viewer Videos!

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

-

My Favorite Gadget of All Time: Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video! IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

The letter of the week:

Another website and store you guys should know about is

Harbor Freight, this store sells awesome tools, I go there, with

my son,  just to look. There is one location in NY, in the borough

Of Brooklyn. The good thing is that the store is near the Brooklyn

MicroCenter, so if you have 5 or 6 hours to spare, you could visit

both stores. That's how long it takes me to finish browsing both

stores.
