This is a special Weekly Daily Giz. The 1st one recorded at the spanking new TWiT Brickhouse!

The latest and greatest Spy Car from Wild Planet!

It’s the just released Spy Video Car VX6. The original release date of the VX6 on the Wild Planet website was pushed up two weeks so it would be available at the same time as this first public showing. I’ve had great fun playing with each new version of the Spy Car. This new 2011 Spy Video Car VX6 combines the best features of previous versions from the past six years! Its shape is modeled after the original 4-wheeled unit, but now it sends live digital video to a color LCD on its remote. It has increased speed; easy push-button activated infrared night vision; and easy-to-use traditional RC toggle controls. But wait, there’s more! The new model also adds on-screen battery and signal meters. It's recommended for ages 8 and up. Retail price is $99.99. It’s available starting July 22, 2011 at the link below. Then it will be in mass market stores in the August/September time frame. Stores that will carry the Spy Video Car VX6 include Target, Kmart, Toys R U, as well as several others. But you saw it on the Weekly Daily Giz Wiz first!

The Virtual Keyboard is here in the flesh!

At CES about five years ago reporters where given a look-see at the keyboard of the future. It was laser projected onto any flat surface with a tiny cube. I got to try it and it interesting, but using it was tricky. If you didn’t hit a key dead center it would type a letter you didn’t want. It took quite a bit of time, but now the Cube Laser Virtual Keyboard is ready for prime time. It’s very accurate and this I love –as you type – every keystroke is accompanied by a simulated key click.  (You can adjust the volume, or turn it off if you want.) On an airplane you'll get a lot of attention when you set this little cube on your tray table and start typing away on your Android phone or iPad.  With 63 keys and a full size QWERTY layout, the Laser Virtual Keyboard can approach typing speeds of a standard keyboard. Yet the Virtual keyboard projector is on about 1” X 3” in size. Connects wirelessly via bluetooth to iPhone, iPad, many Smartphones and most Laptops. But wait, there’s more! Mouse mode allows you to use your finger as a mouse rather than typing when using with a laptop. The rechargeable battery lasts for 150 minutes of continuous typing. It charges via USB. $169.95.

And now it's time for Leo's Turn The Table Turkey!

Now you can Tweet your blood pressure!

Leo likes to let his fans know everything about him. So now he tweets his blood pressure data! And you can too. Here’s some info from Withings, the manufacturer: Browse, zoom, get simple averages of all your blood pressure data in a single place. Access your stats on your iPhone, iPad or iPod, as well as on your private account, at home or in your office, on Mac or PC. Your data is safely backed up so you will never lose your history. Readings, dates and time of day. It is important to keep track of the time of day when the reading was taken. The Withings app provides tools for visualizing your morning and afternoon readings separately. Hence, you only compare what needs to be compared. Stay in sync with your doctor. It is recommended that you take your blood pressure measurements at home in a relaxed environment. We have made it incredibly easy to share your results with your doctor. Push a button in the Withings App to send a recap email and seek professional advice. And now back to Dick De. Leo took my blood pressure on the air. It worked quickly, and before Leo could stop the process, it Tweeted my blood as Leo’s. Turns out it wasn’t that far off from Leos. Under $130.0

Harry Potter and the Lego Bricks.

No, it's not an upcoming movie, just a title for this gizmo description. Lego has had a long life with their Harry Potter Lego offerings. With the wild success of the latest movies, I’m sure their success will continue. They’ve added 3 new kits due out August, 2011. I love the Harry Potter movies, but I don’t know all the names and worse yet, the spellings of the names. So I took the easy way out and got Harry Potter info directly from Logo: Expand your very own wizarding world of Harry Potter™! No need to pass through the Leaky Cauldron. Now even Muggles can shop in Diagon Alley by building this fantastically magical set that includes 3 extensively detailed buildings and 11 minifigures! Join Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger as they shop for their Hogwarts™ school supplies. Visit Ollivander's, Borgin and Burke's, and Gringott's Bank. Each Diagon Alley building is realistically detailed. Ollivander's offers an extensive selection of wands, storage shelves and a step ladder that allows Ollivander to gather wands from the top floor. The front desk has an "exploding" function for those inconvenient times when a spell goes awry. Borgin and Burke's includes a scary skeleton, "glow-in-the-dark" elements, a fireplace attached to the Floo Network and a Vanishing Cabinet that Dark wizards might use to sneak into Hogwarts. Gringott's Bank is an impressive two-story building with large double doors, and can be opened completely into one large building or closed to create one smaller building. The bank's interior features a removable vault, along with the Philosopher's Stone, a clerk's desk, a chandelier and 'wonky' support pillars. Includes 11 minifigures: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, each with magic wand; Rubeus Hagrid, equipped with his pink umbrella; Fred and George Weasley; 2 Gringott's goblins; Mr. Ollivander; Lucius Malfoy (with Death Eater disguise); Fenrir Greyback; and 4 new, decorated owls. (Back to Dick) At Comic Con Harry Potter kits ranged from $11.99 to $149.99.

A visit to Dick's Gadget Warehouse!

The Quickie Dryer.

The very clever Quickie Dryer from 1988.

This clever nylon travel dryer is designed for uniform airflow through your damp garment. Its power is the hotel room hair dryer. The insert that came with the Quickie Dryer says it dries clothes without shrinking, without wrinkling in about ten minutes. It weighs just a few ounces, but offers almost six feet of dryer surface. It’s so easy to use. After you rinse out your garment in the hotel sink and wring it out, you lay it on the perforated drying surface. Then insert any portable hair dryer into the “one size fits all” nozzle inlet. Turn the dryer on and the forced air dress your garments in minutes. I have used it and it works well. You don’t have to hold the dryer in place, but you should monitor the drying carefully. Strangely it’s no longer available, because I think it’s a great travel item. Mine dates back to 1988.  I did a web search and there’s a company is Japan who makes a similar device in the shape of a shirt form. It’s only $2 to $3. The slight problem is you have to order at least 2,000 of them!
