A visit to Dick's Gadget Warehouse!

The Quickie Dryer.

The very clever Quickie Dryer from 1988.

This clever nylon travel dryer is designed for uniform airflow through your damp garment. Its power is the hotel room hair dryer. The insert that came with the Quickie Dryer says it dries clothes without shrinking, without wrinkling in about ten minutes. It weighs just a few ounces, but offers almost six feet of dryer surface. It’s so easy to use. After you rinse out your garment in the hotel sink and wring it out, you lay it on the perforated drying surface. Then insert any portable hair dryer into the “one size fits all” nozzle inlet. Turn the dryer on and the forced air dress your garments in minutes. I have used it and it works well. You don’t have to hold the dryer in place, but you should monitor the drying carefully. Strangely it’s no longer available, because I think it’s a great travel item. Mine dates back to 1988.  I did a web search and there’s a company is Japan who makes a similar device in the shape of a shirt form. It’s only $2 to $3. The slight problem is you have to order at least 2,000 of them!
