The Giz Wiz Show 1653, December 15th, 2017 Independent Show #136

NOTICE: Patreon has changed all the changes back to the way it was before all the changes!! Thank you for your all your emails and concerns. Patreon realized it wasn't popular with anyone.

Soon, in February 2018, we'll be entering our fourth year of Independent Production! And that all thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters! If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/ . You can also contribute just once via the PayPal link that's there too. And thank you for doing that! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support, but quite frankly, a bit more support would be a big help. (As we can say honestly, asking for more Patreon supporters is not to make more money, it's to help us lose less money doing The Giz Wiz. Thanks.)

And now let's start the show with some Dancing Liquids, the first of our "all LED show!"!

These Dancing Liquid Speakers have  a weird name: Aolyty Portable 6 Watt Water Dancing Fountain Speakers with 6 Colored LED Lights Show Guide Tube Stereo Audio Player

Here's a bit of what Amazon says: Perfect Stereo Sound. They are one pair with two speakers, 3W x 2 acoustic drivers, which delivering stereo clear surround sound. 6 multi-colored leds show you a fantastic colorful vivid world of music and light. Reflecting off the water as it shoots out of the base creating awesome visual effects. The center guide light tube shimmers like stars especially at night. The water fountain jets are controlled by your speaker's volume and create an amazing visual effect with dancing water and a multi colored Led light show. Plug and Play with 3.5mm connection port. Speaker tubes are filled with environmental non-toxic and zero ignition vegetable oil. These speakers are light weight and portable, 9" tall.

My quickie review: My 1st set arrived with the mineral oil from one speaker leaking and soaking everything else in the box. The company replaced it quickly. Now I like the replacement speakers a lot, but watch this week's show to see all the other details. Or just watch my video.

This gadget is like having a friend who can hold a flashlight for you.

Meet the POD Light!

The folks at MYCHANIC have come up with a unique and handy light. It's called POD Light and it sits on a magnetic base that lets you aim a bright light toward almost any job you're doing. It's like having someone there to hold a 250 lumen flashlight on your work. It has high and low light modes. But wait, there's more! The base of the POD Light is also magnetic, so you can fasten it to metal parts of your car when you're doing repairs, or metal parts under the sink, etc. At under $20, it won a 'value' award from the folks at the DIY Network at the 2017 National Hardware Show. And you don't see this very often: “Batteries included”. And not just any batteries, but 3 AA Duracell Coppertop batteries.

Another LED Disco Bulb, But This One Has Remote Control!

We talked about a similar LED Disco Bulb last year, but this one adds a lot of features including remote control and a lot of color options, and a quick way to turn it on and off. The original one we reported on has no on/off switch or any way to vary the lighting effects. This one has 9 modes, including “audio” which makes the LED's reacting to sound - either voice or music. I like this a lot as you'll see in this week's show, or in the video link below. But wait there's more! While doing a little Amazon web search, I found a cheaper version, which looks like it has a few more features, and it's less money! Below is a link to one I bought and showed in the video and the less expensive one I ordered, but haven't received yet.

Chad's Crappy Corner & His Second Gadget For His New December Theme!

Chad polled our loyal (and supportive) Patreons and they picked "cheap stocking stuffers" for his December theme. For this week's show Chad shows us "Amazing Laser Putty."

As you'll see in this week's show Chad found that his "Amazing Laser Putty" was far from amazing. Chad gives it one star because it came with a crappy LED light that is supposed to let you 'draw' on the Laser putty. Not only doesn't it draw on the putty, the LED light doesn't stay lit even though Chad is holding the "on" button. Also Chad was right when he said he couldn't Amazing Laser Putty for sale online and neither could I. All I found about it is that it's said to be a scientific new compound that allows you to write in the Putty with the included LED light. Chad found his at Target and paid under $10 for it. But after you see Chad's video I don't think you'll looking to buy it.

Dick's Gadget Warehouse & How to Submit Your Viewer Video.

Our viewer video of the week with the subject line: “gadget warehouse for musicians!” arrived with this email from Andy Juhl:

+++++++++++++++++++++++

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your avorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we show your video you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully) and if you live in the US, you'll also get an autographed 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. But no matter where you live, I can email an autographed to you Alfred E. Neuman photo. Print it out, frame it, and no one will know it's a copy. We've tested it out and fans say they look terrific!

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
