Giz Wiz Show 1733 June 27, 2019 Independent Show #215

Wow! The Giz Wiz Show started year 13 overall & our 5th year of Independent Production! (First Giz Wiz show was February 20th, 2006.) Thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters we continue on! If it wasn't for them, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv.  You can also contribute just once via the PayPal link that's there too. Thank you for doing that! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support, but a bit more support would be a big help. Thanks from OMGchad & DickDe!

This week we look at 3 new and unique  gadgets from Pepcom's Digital Experience, June 2019 in NYC.

Kids! How about building a working computer from a blueprint. Piper says kids can do that via the Piper Computer Kit. They say it's is the ultimate D.I.Y. computer-building experience, for ages 8-13. Build a REAL computer from start to finish while playing Minecraft. Use the Raspberry Pi Edition to learn how to code and make STEAM connections to the real-world. As soon as students open the box, they are immersed in a rich, tactile building experience with laser-cut wooden parts, a Raspberry Pi microcomputer, and a collection of electronic components. Here are the specs from Piper: Beautiful, handcrafted wooden computer case with high resolution 9’’ LCD display •Electronic components including LED lights, buzzers, buttons, switches and more •Poster size laminated blueprint explaining how to assemble your Piper Computer •Custom Raspberry Pi Edition of Minecraft Story Mode for building and programming electronic modules •Coding lessons built on Google for Education's Blockly •Raspberry Pi 3 . 1GB RAM. 1.2 GHz Quad Core 64 bit CPU •Integrated DIY speaker/amplifier system •USB mouse with a retractable cable •9000 mAh Lithium-ion power bank •16GB micro SD card. MSRP $299.99, but the company says there are constant sales at their website.
