Dick's Gadget Warehouse & How to Submit Your Viewer Video.

Our viewer video this week arrived from:

Bruce Hill

Subject: Watch "Casio G-shock watch" on YouTube

https://youtu.be/AEJTApHkPlQ

I forgot to mention that both watches have the original batteries.

Amazon lists at least 10 different solar G-shock Casio watches, including some that support Bluetooth (I think they just vibrate with notification).

+++++++++++++++++++++++

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.

-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.

-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.

-

My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.

-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you'll also get an autographed 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live, I canemail an autographed to you Alfred E. Neuman photo if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it's a copy. We've tested it out and fans say they look terrific!

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Letter of the week:

Hi Dick & Chad, since you were both interested in last week's preshow about version 2 of the Flow Hive, here's the announcement last week at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/flow-hive-2-innovation#/ on the third birthday of their first version (of which they've already sold over 50,000 worldwide). Instead of me trying to describe specifically how it works in words you can play b-roll from the Tech Insider on mute (it's already captioned) while reading this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYgJB2DCP7I - they're offering 30% off for the duration of the IndieGoGo campaign, down from $999 to $699 for the complete hive.

The point of this invention is that no extra tools are needed for harvesting the honey, which can get expensive when you have to build an entire bee-proof shed for the messy extraction process. Also unlike traditional harvesting which has no option but to open the hive and disturb the bees, the bees can peacefully continue to work at the front entrance while you're harvesting honey from the back of the Flow Hive, so much less chance of angering them and being stung.

The creators of the Flow Hive really want new beekeepers to join local beekeeping groups and find a mentor to help get started. Hives can fail so all the work other than harvesting still needs to go into them year round, and the warmer your climate the more success you'll have harvesting honey.

Here's one more video from beekeeping educators talking about the Flow Hive 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRqE_v58Sd4&t=31s

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Ky.
