Alexia Answers From Above Via The First Alert Onelink

Alexa was everywhere at CES 2018. One place it makes sense, now that I've seen it (but not heard it) is in the new First Alert Onelink Safe & Sound. The company says this is the 1st smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarm with a superior home speaker and Alexa built-in! The reason I think this is a clever idea is that you're going to install smoke/CO detectors in a lot of rooms. Since the First Alert units need a speaker to call out the emergencies, why not install a top-notch speaker and Alexa, so you can also use the unit to communicate with Alexa. That way you can have music in every room, get the weather, etc. throughout the house. They require WiFi and when one unit goes off, it sets off the other units in the house. The alarm can also alert you on your mobile phone whether or home or away. The built-in voice alerts announce the location and type of emergency. A Google Assistant version is coming too. Available soon. (This was posted 1/18/18). $249.99. A lower price version without Alexa will be coming mid-summer for under $150.00.
