The Giz Wiz Show 1649 for November 17th, 2017, Our 132nd Independent Production.

We're well into our third year of Independent Production thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters! If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/. You can also contribute just once via the PayPal link that's there too. And thank you for doing that! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support, but a bit more support would be a big help.

This week we have three unique gadgets ideas from CES Unveiled 2018, a look at some exhibitors we'll see at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. CES Unveiled was held in NYC, November 9, 2017 at the Metropolitan Pavilion, a very convenient events venue.

    Mars Ear-to-ear translators

At the CES Unveiled event in NYC, two companies Line and Naver Corp, (an Internet content service operator headquartered in South Korea) are CES 2018 Best of Innovation Honorees. The honor is for their new MARS Bluetooth-enabled wireless translator earbuds. While several companies are working on ear-to-ear real-time language translation, Mars feels theirs is different. How? According to the company, other earbuds require separate mobile devices and earbuds, or two pairs of earbuds. MARS only require a single pair that can be shared between two people. Using the Naver Papago app, the user assigns a language to each each earbud. From there, two people will be able to have real-time ear-to-ear translation of 10 different languages. (For hygiene purposes I'd carry some handy little germ wipes.) The supported languages right now include English, Korean, Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian. But the spokesperson at the show said the company is working on adding many more languages. The system works for both iOS and Android. The earbuds were named a Scheduled for release in early 2018, the suggested retail price (as of now) will be $149.00.
