Need a Mini-Monitor?
I have several small 7” & 10” LCD monitors in my apartment and Gizneyland studio. I use one as a monitor for my door-cam, and I use two as mini-TV monitors, hooked up to cable boxes which provide the video and sound. I like the 7” size because the pictures is decent, but they don't take up a lot of real estate in my work area. The latest one I bought is the SunFounder 7” with a 16:9 / 4:3 adjustable display. The listed resolution is 1024 X 600 and the picture quality is really decent. What I like about this monitor are all the inputs: PC (VGA), AV1, AV2, and HDMI. It can operate in a car/van/truck/ or even boat with the DC 12V harness that comes with it. If you're using front and rear cameras in your vehicle there are two video inputs and the ability to flip, or change image left and right. It also comes with an AC power supply. There's a remote control too, but it's very bare bones. The one dumb thing about this monitor is the cable that hooks up to the wiring harness. It comes directly out of the bottom of the monitor, which means the monitor can only be used with the stand. The stand is included, but it would be a much smaller packages without having to use it. From the reviews I read it seems a lot of people buy these monitor to use with Raspberry Pi mini-computers. I plan to also use mine with my tiny Kangaroo PC. The multiple inputs let you hook it to several device at the same time, switching between them at will. It's also a great travel monitor for viewing videos you shoot on the road when hooked to a 12V power source. It even has a small built-in speaker, which many monitors lack. It's about $55.00. You can find a lot of cheaper 7” monitors on Amazon, but the ones I checked out don't have all the inputs and the ability to run on AC and 12 volts.
