A 4 Color, 4 Materials 3D Printer For Under $1,000.

I don't know a lot about 3D printers, but MAKE Magazine does! The December 2016/January 2017 issue of MAKE Magazine said some amazing things about the Prusa i3 MK2 3D printer. Here are just a few details from the magazine: Prusa Research has raised the bar for consumer 3D printing platforms while not breaking the bank. And with its total score of 36 points — more than any machine we’ve ever tested — the Prusa i3 MK2 became the machine all the testers wanted, and more than one of us went home and immediately placed an order. The MK2 boasts an E3D all-metal hot end, a next-generation heated bed with PEI print surface, bed-leveling compensation, and a 31% larger print volume over the previous i3. Available as a kit, assembled printer, or upgrade option for the original i3 model, the MK2 offers beautiful prints across a multitude of plastic filament options. The Prusa i3 MK2 kit is $699.00. Fully assembled and tested: $899.00 But wait, there's more! Prusa has released a new 4 material upgrade for the Prusa i3 MK2. It is the first consumer option available to print with 4 different materials or colors simultaneously. The use of up to 4 material feeders with only one hotend makes the solution calibration free and much easier to use than currently available systems. Preorders are at $199 for 2 material option and $249 for the 4 material option. You need to have the Prusa i3 MK2 3D printer to use these add-ons. Full details at the company website.

Here's a fascinating video - it's the Prusa 3D Printing Farm! A single 3D printer can print all the parts for another new printer every day. And dozens of them print parts round the clock 24/7.
