This is a fan letter. It’s the first fan letter I have ever written, and I am 68 years old. You deserve it just like the many other heroes in my life to whom I did not send fan letters. You will recognize some of them from your East Coast upbringing. Jean Sheppard comes to mind. I spent many happy evenings from high school to grad school tuning in to Shep from Philadelphia to Amherst, Massachusetts just to hear the Master.
But let’s talk about you. I first found you on ZD TV two nights after they installed the satellite dish at my home. I watched and sometimes taped Screen Savers and xxx almost every night. It was the Kate Botelo era when you danced every night at the end of the show. I was there the night your wrap up line, referring to an earlier Tennessee caller, was something like, “Well, I guess we’re all going to have pull our pork tonight.” But it was your follow-up line that got me. “At times like these, there’s nothing to do but dance.” And you swept Kate off the steps and onto the tiny dance floor. “One Hundred Percent Professional Broadcaster”. That’s the night you earned the label I know you by.
Thanks to the TWIT Network, I get to see you as much as I want. I always listen to This Week in Tech and The Daily Giz Wiz. I sometimes shoot my daily satellite download limit to get GW video podcasts. I’ve tuned in live to some broadcast times. I enjoy your work very much.
You’re inventive, knowledgeable, and kind-hearted. Your integrity (“I buy the products”) is beyond reproach. But it is your “100% P. B.” that wins the day. You know how to include everyone and make them safe – on both sides of the microphone. You know just how far to stretch it as your daily GW podcasts with Dickey D show. We’re in good hands with Leo.

Thank you for many hours of great pleasure,
