This mini MP3 player was kind of a forerunner to the new iPod Nano.

Every few weeks I get an Email that asks: “Is there anything in the gadget warehouse that was new and cutting edge when the DGW first started in 2006? Good question. And the MobiBlu is a perfect example of something that was SO HOT when it came out, that is pretty much gone here in 2010. I first talked about in episode 17 of the Daily Giz Wiz. Get this, the show was 6 minutes long! The MobiBLU DAH-1500i was the world’s smallest MP3 player. It has a built in FM Radio and the whole gizmo weighs less than one ounce! And how tiny? It was about the size of a candy caramel! It’s so small the easiest way to carry it is to wear it! MobiBLU made that easy by providing a lanyard with built in earphones! (They also double as the antenna for the FM radio!) This tiny guy is big in the features department! It plays MP3, WMA and protected WMA files, has a built in clock, graphic equalizer and voice recorder! But wait, there’s more!  As small as it is, it comes with a four-line OLED display! OLED, or organic LED provides a bright, easy to read display under most conditions. The headphone jack doubles as a USB 2.0 port. A lot of thought went into this tiny gizmo! Price: $99 for 512 Mb; $130 for 1GB. And a 2 GB unit was coming along for about $160. But looking for it on the web in September, 2010, I found this comment made in 2006: The one-man company mobiBluAmerica, went out of business. The Korean arm of mobiBlu seems to have produced more mini MP3 players into 2009. And if you do a web search you can still find one or two MobiBlu MP3 players for sale.

I love the watch, it is heavy, solid, modern, sporty yet very elegant and extremely good looking. The well known precision of a Seiko combined with the looks makes it a wonderful item to have. watches iwc|
