Put an end to tangled headphone cords!

They’re calledCordCruncher, and they were a recent successful Kick-Starter project. I’ve used them for a few days now and they actually work very well. When you take them out of the package, you have a short cable with a headphone jack dangling out of one end of a latex sleeve, and two earbuds hanging out the other end. Nothing’s tangled up, but they’re also unusable that way. After you stare at them and give up on how to use them, you refer to the instructions. That’s when you see they’re quite ingenious. To extend the headphone cable, hold the headphone jack and the wires going into the earbuds. Pull out as much wire as you’ll need. (Max length for the entire CordCruncher is 42”) Then use your headphones like any other pair. The sound is very decent, especially for the price! When you’re finished, it’s time to make the wires tangle-proof again. This time you hold the very ends of the latex tub and stretch it. This quickly shortens the cables back to their original length of about 16 inches. Another nice feature: you don’t have to store your headphones in your pocket. CordCruncher headphones can be worn around your neck or you can double them the latex sleeve and wear them on your wrist. They come in three colors which I thought were blue, red or black. Now I learn they’re available in Pearl Blue, Rocket Red and Matte Black. Silly me. The price is decent. $24.95. And in case you’re wondering, you cannot use your own headphones since it’s a specially designed cable that’s inside that clever CordCruncher Sleeve.

A perfect product to 'show' on the radio, because it's so yucky!

(Sent in by Giz Wiz fan Beckee W!)

I’m glad Leo talked about these on the Video version of The Giz Wiz because I hate bugs and I didn't even want to hold these pictures of bugs! But with school starting up again soon, they might just save a child's lunch from being taken.

Here’s the Lunch Bug Bags description from the web: Lunch Bug Bags by Fred Studios

Whether your favorite brownbagger is full-grown or pint-size, here’s a way you can add some zing to their lunch break— just pack their meals in Lunch Bugs, the sandwich bags with a supersized creepy-crawly printed right on it. These reusable zip-to-lock storage bags are big enough for a two-handed sandwich, or bagels & scream cheese. Lunch Bugs are also a fool-proof anti-theft device if your office is plagued with freeloading fridge raiders. Guaranteed to put an end to lunchroom larceny! You get 24 Bags, 7.25” x 8.25” each. I saw them here for under $6, but I haven’t bought anything at this website.

The New iSafe Guardian Backpack. It's Alarming.

ISafe Back Packs are backpacks that add and alarm and flashing LED feature.

They are recommended for children 8 years old and up because kids should be old enough to understand that an iSafe bag is an alarm system, not a toy. The iSafe backpack can be used as a tool to help kids (or anyone) escape dangerous or harmful situations. The dual alarm system is concealed in the lower section of the backpack. To activate the alarm system the child pulls the activation cord which is located on the one of the front straps. This puts it in easy reach while the child is wearing it. Disengaging the safety pin instantaneously activates the alarm. The alarm is loud, louder than a car alarm, so this is for actual emergencies. (It’s 120 decibels!) The two sirens send signals in opposite directions, away from the user's ears, which should attract attention all around. The alarm can run up to 2 continuous hours, assuming the two 9-volt batteries are new. (Batteries not included.) Because of the way the straps are located it should be extremely difficult and time consuming for an attacker to remove the iSafe backpack from the wearer. (It is important that the company’s instructions are followed when wearing the backpack.) The iSafe Guardian has pockets to store everything a young needs on the go. Two outside side pockets can hold for water bottles or anything you want to reach quickly. ISafe offers larger models for older students, designed to hold their laptops and even more gear. The iSafe Guardian is about $50. If you do a web search you might find it cheaper.

An inexpensive, compact charge/sync cable.

Here's are twp handy, tiny, charge and snyc cable systems!

First Scoshe came out with their flipSYNC keychain USB charge and sync cables. Now they’ve introduced anewer version called clipSYNC. These useful charging cables are pocket-sized, ideal for travel. Each one is about the size of a car alarm remote control, but offer users a convenient syncing cable when on the go. The newer version is reinforced with aluminum and has a built in carabineer clip. Clip it on a belt loop, back or fanny pack, even a key chain.  There are two versions. There’s clipSYNC that features an iPhone/IPod 30 pin connector at one end and a regular 2.0 USB connector at the other. The second unit clipSYNC features both Mini and Micro USB connections on one end, and a standard 2.0 USB connector on the other. Retail for each 19.99. You can find the earlier plastic version for about half that price if you do a web search. They were called flipSYNC.
