Cobra Electronics JumPack XL - Jump Starter/Power Pack (CPP 12000)

I have the first version of this Cobra device which works great. I was able to start my 225 HP Yamaha outboard on the first turn of the key. And that was with a dead battery. Now comes a much more powerful version, the JumPack XL. Cobra asks: What if you could jump start your car, light-duty truck, cargo Van and charge your mobile devices off the same battery pack that easily fits in your backpack or glove compartment? The Cobra JumPack XL has a starting current of 300 and 500 peak amps. The Cobra JumPack XL has enough power to jump start most gasoline and diesel cars, light-duty trucks and cargo vans multiple times on a single charge. 3 amp USB port for charging portable devices, tablets and other 5V mobile devices. Built-in LED flashlight, SOS/strobe light. UL registered. 6.5" X 3.1" X 1.3". 1.1 pounds. $129.00.

There are much newer models than this. Search 'jump starter - power pack".

60 LED's!! And an unexpected surprise.

Like LED's? Then you just might like the illumi Tower. It has a 2400 mAh rechargeable battery you can have a bright LED light just about anywhere you need light. 60 bright white LED's, can turn any area into a well-lit space, as opposed to using a flashlight when you just pinpoint one small spot. There's a high/low setting where the high mode put out an very decent 720 Lumens. To fully charge the illumi Tower, plug it into a standard power outlet for 8-10 hours. The battery should last 3-6 hours depending on the brightness setting. There's even an emergency mode: when plugging in with the included AC charging adapter, the light will stay off until it detects a power outage or it's unplugged. It will illuminate as long as the 3-way switch is either in the High or Low setting. BEWARE though, that also means you cannot have the light on while its plugged in. It includes a built-in carrying handle, kickstand for hands-free use, and mounting hardware. It can be used horizontally, vertically, or mounted in a suitable place. Great for camping, auto work, emergency lighting in the home, closet lighting, and more. I don't know about quality control however. My illumi Tower came with a surprise. As you'll see in the video, my tower has an intermittent short circut that made the light blink when it was plugged in and I jiggled the AC cord. Dimensions: 16.5in x 3in x 2in. It may not still be on sale, but I paid $20.00 at www.pulsetv.com. If it's still not on sale there, you can find it elsewhere by just searching for illumi Tower.

Grilling burgers? This high-end Napoleon 665 can grill 42 of them at one time.

The most expensive backyard grill I saw at the show was the Napoleon 665. Walking down the aisle I was just drawn to it by the glowing 'tech blue' control knobs. There were quite a few other people eyeing it too. Since this model was indoors it wasn't being demostrated. But I did get quite a bit of info on it. As you read, get a price in your head. I'll tall what it is at the end here. “The new Prestige PRO Series PRO665RSIB Gas Grill comes with 8 burners in total, and can grill up to 42 4” hamburgers at once. In addition to burgers, you can grill gourmet meals on the 9.5 - millimeter, stainless steel Wave cooking grids. While you’re busy grilling up the perfect steak, or slow grilling the perfect roast, you can cook amazing side dishes on the ceramic infrared side burner. Not just for quickly searing the perfect steak, the ceramic brick heats to 1,800°F in just over 30 seconds and can be used to make sauces, boil water, and even sauté. Other features include: 98,000 BTU's, Integrated Wood Chip Smoker Tray, Interior Lights, 1140 Inch Total Cooking Areas, Jetfire Ignition. And the price? …..$2999.00. (And it's not their priciest unit, just the most expensive that I saw.)

It's here on Amazon with free shipping, which is good, because it weighs over 300 pounds. (Free shipping is  not Amazon Prime shipping, however.) http://amzn.to/1VakG6c

Company video: (It's a commercial, but it does show off the 665 quite well. You can easily skip  the 1st minute and still see almost all the features. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Iejwp6qCvk

Ever Wonder What You Might Get When You Buy A Mystery Box of Tech Accessories?

Well now you won't have to wonder, because I can show you. I opted to buy two 'Tech Mystery Boxes'. They were $20 each and I had no idea what my $40 bought.

One thing we all pretty much were sure of before going in was that none of the items iTech Deals used in their promo email would find their way into their Tech Accessories Mystery Boxes. That's the photo they use on the right. I bought quite a few items from iTech and have been pleased with them, so I think they do themselves a disservice with this particular photo.

The mystery box of tech is not always available, but if you sign up for their mailing list, you'll know what the next one takes place.

    Mystery Box of Tech Accessories

Here is what was in was in one of my Mystery Tech Accessories Boxes. It seems sometimes iDeals offers a $20 box and a $40 box. I bought two $20 boxes. Since in one of the reviews I read, a customer complained that they ordered two boxes at the same time, and that each box contained exactly the same thing, none of which they could use. So I ordered two boxes from two different sales, probably about two weeks apart. Turns out I only got two duplicates. A sort of worthless (to me any way) mini 'store card' organizer and a magnetic LED light to stick on metal tools. That's not too bad. I'm keeping one and I gave one away. The only other things I might be able to use is the non-branded external battery charger, which we found out sells for about $10. And a Bluetooth Music Receiver, which is online for $7. There was also a lot of useless cable and 30-pin Apple stuff in the box, which is worthless to me. So, it's not a rip-off as some reviewers say, but I think you'll save money by buying exactly what you need instead of hoping to 'strike it rich' with one of these boxes. Box of mystery  tech accessories is not always available, but you can check here from time to time, or sign up for their email list.
