A Selfie-Stick That Really Does Something Different.

Pictar has devised a totally different kind of Selfie Stick. Recently the CEO of Miggo / Pictar, Rafy David, came by the Gizneyland studio to give us a look at how it works. The company says that the Pictar Smart Stick is the world's most advanced selfie stick with a 6-button control panel built into the handle. You'll be able to perform a variety of useful functions even when the stick is fully extended. You can control the tilt of the phone relative to the stick to determine the perfect shooting angle, use the zoom function, adjust image brightness, switch between the front and rear camera and many other functions. The easy-to-use Pictar app offers 20 shooting modes for taking better selfies in any situation. It features a rechargeable battery and comes in 3 fashion colors. The Smart Stick works with the latest iPhones, Galaxy phones 6 and up, and Pixel phones. Looks like my LG G7 is left with a plain only non-automatic selfie stick! The Inka Keychain Pen Returns!

The Inka Pen is one of my favorite gadgets. It's small enough to hang on a keychain to provide you with an excellent writing pen whenever you need one. The company Nite Ize that produces the pen had stopped making it in favor of a new pen/stylus combination. But it was bigger and came with a pocket clip so it didn't fit on a keychain. But now the original Inka pen is back. It's engineered to write in all conditions - underwater, at any altitude, in extreme temperatures, and at any angle. Charge your cellphone from a working landline? It can be done.

Did you know if you have an working landline phone powered by copper wire, you can use that power for a nightlight and phone charger?

It's the VR3 Phone Line Charger + Night Light. This device plugs into your telephone jack. But it will only work with a working copper phone line, not with fiber. Once you plug it it, you use the jack on the side of the device to plug your phone in. That way this device is always getting power to charge the internal 1800 mAh battery. When charged a light sensor turns the built in night light goes on and off automatically. On the front of the device is a USB-A port is to charge your device. It won't fast charge it, and it probably won't fully charge it in your phone battery is low, but it will help you have battery power when the electric goes out, because your copper phone line is totally separate from your A/C power. There's even a microUSB built in as a way to charge the device itself if the phone line is not active. Could be a help during a power failure. This device on 10/17/19 was only $4.44 at Walmart, which seems to be closing them out.

Jooki -- kind of like a kid's Juke Box says the company spokesperson.

Looking at this device I wasn't quite sure what it was. But Jooki is a music player that lets kids play parent-approved music and stories from Spotify & more. It comes with 5 characters (like fox, whale, etc.) that link to various playlists. When a kid pop one of them on the center ring of the Jooki, it start to play the music, story, etc., that has been uploaded to that character. The company says there's an 8-hour battery life (there's no screen to suck up battery juice) so it means very long playtime outdoors or on the go. I thought the plastic characters were magnetic, but they're not. However the company says if you press down on them there's a suction to hold them in place. There's a small amount of onboard memory but there's an SD card slot to add more. Strangely, that is listed as 32GB Max, although for audio files, that's quite a bit. There's also a headphone jack and airplane mode so the kids can entertain themselves quietly. You can set quiet times when the Jooki won't play anything, and you can even set a volume level for your kids. You can turn off parental controls to use Jooki as a wireless speaker with premium sound quality. I thought the sound was very good, but then again, the retail price is a penny under the $200 mark. At CES earlier this year, in the Educational Toy Category, it was awarded Best in Family Tech. MSRP. $199.99

Although they look similiar in many ways there are  few additional features of this lantern. You still get the camping tent light and flame effect light, flashlight, but this one adds an LED party light at the top. But wait, there's more! If you already have one of these 'disco versions' like I do, just use them on batteries, don't use the charging cable that plugs in AC.
