Does your bowl have Gyro technology?

Well, the Ztl Baby Gyro Bowl 360 Degree Rotation Spill Resistant Gyroscopic Bowl with Lid Toy Tableware for Kids Toddlers does have it!

Here's what Ztl says about it: Universal Gyro Bowl, great for babies and kids to have fun while they eat but without the mess. Made of premium quality food grade PP material, safe for your kids to use. Adjusts to the normal positing if the the baby twists, tilts or turns the bowl, easy to train the baby to eat without help. Anti-Spill design, the inner bowl with gyroscopic motion can rotate 360 degrees to keep dry food inside and avoid food spilling; Easy to Clean and Dishwasher Safe.

From the Giz Wiz: Online I read 'the bowl might fall apart when you receive it, but please don't worry, our gyro bowl  can be reassembled in seconds' I wondered if that was true. As you'll see in the video I dropped it and it did fall apart. I put it back together again, but not in seconds. You'll also see how I was totally impressed with this device for about the first 2 minutes! Then --- well watch the video! It was just $1 on Wish, but $4 shipping & 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. I bought mine on Amazon for a bit more than that, but got it in 2 days.

House bone-dry from heating the house during these dry winter months?

I found the Taotronics Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier helped a lot.

It's has a lot of nice features. It's easy to fill, has a built-in night light, auto shut off, and a large 6L/1.59 gallon tank. I like the large tank and the 360° swivel nozzle to direct the mist where you most want it. The company says it can provide up to 60 hrs of continuous mist. I have mine set on almost maximum and it runs for about 16 to 18 hours before the tank is empty. It's very quiet, 26dB says Taotronics. The mist know turns red light to let you know the tank is empty. (It's shuts off automatically when it's empty.) I like the built-in night light with a warm, glow and the blue light so you can easily see how much water is left in the tank. Even though many of reviews complain the lights are too bright and can't be shut off, there is a tiny button that lets you turn either one on or off. The price ranges from about $48 to $60 and is ever-changing. If you check the price look carefully because they often have a check box for additional money off. I paid about $50 for mine.

    Meet the Spherificator! Huh?

I couldn't guess what the heck the Spherificator did when I saw it at the Insprired Home Show in NYC.

Okay, so what the heck is Spherification?

Here's how the company describes it. Spherification is ideal for creating pearls that will liberate their flavors while bursting in your mouth. The Spherificator uses the reaction between the vegan food additives sodium alginate (extracted from algae) and calcium chloride (a salt) to form a spherical membrane around the ingredient you choose. When a solution containing sodium alginate is dripped into a calcium bath, calcium ions react with alginate molecules by allowing them to align and bind so that a thin gel membrane forms around the droplets. The process of turning liquids into caviar-shaped pearls through the spherification technique has been around since the 1950s, but until the invention of the Spherificator it was an extremely arduous, time-consuming and inconsistent task. If you have done it before using a syringe you will be thankful that those times are now behind us and you’ll be pumping out all kinds of pearls in no time. For an optimal burst-in-mouth effect, serve pearls within 15 minutes of creation. As the pearls sit the reaction will continue until they are completely congealed.

And from the Giz Wiz: I tasted Spherificated Gatorade at the show. To me, those little beads tasted a bit weird in my mouth. But I have to add that I'm not a fan of Gatorade, even right out of the bottle. The device is $99.00 and it seems to be a bit of a process to makes those 'pearls' as the company calls them. Included with your Spherificator is 1 x 40g sodium alginate, 1 x 100g calcium chloride, 1 x 50g sodium citrate. There much more info at the company website, including a video.

It's also available on Amazon where it got so-so reviews.

I don't know everything about this 'coming-in-summer' LED bulb, but I do know it's really different!

First a word about the 1stLED bulb I ever heard about. It was the GeoBulb, released on March 27, 2009 by ccrane. Leo Laporte was the one who reported on the GeoBulb's first 60-watt direct replacement that uses less than 8 watts. He told me about it on the Daily Giz Wiz Netcast. The LED GeoBulb was designed to last for three years of continuous service, which is equivalent to 20 years at about four hours per day. BUT, the cost!! The GeoBulb LED light bulb was available from C. Crane for $119.95 for one, or for $113.95 each for orders of six or more. Okay, now comes the latest LED bulb I've ever seen, the Incredi-Bulb!It's the first bulb you can throw on the floor and watch it bounce! You can even crush the bulb part in your hand and watch it slowly pop back into shape. It feels like it's rubber but I'm not sure what it's made of. It will be available in 40 & 60 watt equivalents. And the cost? Somewhere in the $5 to $7 range, due out this Summer. I found this at the 2020 Inspired Home Press Event in NYC. When I told the person at the Butterie booth, "The Butter Dish Reinvented" I really was looking for more tech-like gadgets, she showed me this new light bulb and told me she had just secured the exclusive right to distribute it in the US. The packaging in the photo is just a mock-up and may be different when the bulb comes to market in summer.  I'll post a link when I know more.

    It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's the world's first hydrofoil bike!

Okay, who needs a hydrofoil bike? I'm not sure, but when the guys from Manta5 put a video of their hydrofoil bike online they told me it went virtual very fast with 350 million views! Interested? Here's the info. The Manta5 Hydrofoiler XE-1, world’s first production hydrofoil bike launched in the U.S. at CES. Using the same technology as America’s Cup sailboats, and seven years in development, the Hydrofoiler is the first bike of its kind to replicate the cycling experience on water. The New Zealand-based company sold out the initial pilot production run in six months, after their short video of the hydrofoil prototype went viral, amassing more than 350 million views on Facebook. Tomeet demand, Manta5 is implementing a staged delivery program with presales now open in the U.S. for delivery early this year. The Hydrofoiler redefines cycling and watersports by enabling riders to launch and plane through open bodies of water -- from ocean shorelines to lakes and rivers. (I asked about rough water and the spokesperson said you really don't want to venture out into big waves.) Cyclists can reach speeds of up to 12 mph, comparable to the speed of traditional sailboats. The bikes are made from strong carbon fiber and aircraft-grade aluminum, making them buoyant and light enough to carry. Some Key Specs: Up to 60 minutes of riding time. IP68 waterproof battery. 460 watt-electric motor. Aircraft-grade aluminum frame and carbon fiber hydrofoils. 63 pounds (including foils and battery) 12 mph (11 knots) maximum speed ? U.S. MSRP $7,495 (excluding taxes and shipping). Preorder reservations are currently available for a 50% deposit. (In the video, the spokesperson says 10% deposit, but on their website it says '50% refundable deposit' to order.)
