A Lopsided Moustache
Ryan Harmon is a big fan of the show, and would like Leo to do the Scottish accent again.  Leo does not oblige, but check out, e.g., Episode 173, when Leo sang the Letters Jingle with a Scottish accent.  Ryan has been watching the video on TWiTLive and has noticed that Dick's famous moustache is lopsided.

In Search of the Podcasting Gene
Leo is volunteering himself to have his DNA profiled, for the Personal Genome Project founded by George Church, Profession of Genetics at Harvard.  This may lead to a major breakthrough in genetics - the discovery of the podcasting gene.

A listener has suggested that instead of sitting on a ball, Leo should try a Swopper.

David Pepka, a magician from Harrisburg, PA, of forentertainmentonly.com, last wrote in Episode 457.  Recently due to a medical condition, David had to receive treatment in hospital.  He saved up some of his Daily Giz Wiz shows, and between those and his favourite NPR "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me", he had a lot of fun giggling, and converted a curious nurse into listening to the show on a new iPhone.

The Water Glow Shower Head combines the ideas behind 2 gadgets that Dick previously covered: the Shower Star (Episode 25) and the Temperature Faucet Light (Episode 269).

A Week of Funeral Gadgets
Nikki Barton used Ludwik Trammer's Full Feed to listen to old shows of the Daily Giz Wiz, and wants to remind Dick and Leo that in Episode 49, they talked about tombstones and joked that they should do a week of funeral-related gadgets when they got to Episode 1000.  Now's the time.  Dick already has the biodegradeable Sea Urn (Episode 235) for his ashes and the Key Buoy (Episode 149) to keep the urn afloat the Hudson River, and doesn't want any more of them.  By the way, despite being a Gadget Warehouse resident, the Sea Urn is still going strong.

Just One More Podcast
The chatroom suggests that Leo's epitaph on his tombstone should be "Just One More Podcast".  Appropriately that's the name of his autobiography (see Episode 812).

Nokia N900: First Look
Leo is pipped at the post again by Dick, with the Verbatim Insight (Episode 929).  He has to share with Dick his first look at the Nokia N900, Nokia's new flagship smartphone.  Leo has not had enough time properly to review it, and in due course is to be disappointed.  He later tweets that the N900 is no iPhone.  Nor a Droid.  You can watch the short demo below, courtesy of odtv.me.



TV Hat - The Next Snuggie?
Dakota Chichester has written in about the TV Hat.  It is described as a "movie theater experience".  Details are short on the website but you're supposed to connect your MP3 Player or PMP to it and look at the picture through some sort of magnifying glass.

Gadget Curfew
TWiT's accountant Lisa Kentzell has come to realise that Leo may have forgotten about the taxes in his budget.  For the rest of the year, Leo has been put on a tight leash as far as spending money on gadgets is concerned.  Wasn't Lisa on the test drive for the Ford Mustang?

Wowwee Not-So-Alive Elvis
Jerry Reiger, a recent convert to the Daily Giz Wiz, has suggested a gadget that is fit for the Daily Giz Wiz - the Wowwee Alive Elvis.  It is indeed - see Episode 378.  Now available at a discounted price.  The problem with the Wowwee Elvis, Leo thinks, is that its motors are a bit like Mr Lincoln at Disneyland.  A good match for the Wowwee Alive Chimpanzee (Episode 13).
