    Episode 1080

    Half-Baked Ovens
Here's a picture of the other example Dick mentions on the show, of these mini microwave ovens like the Samsung Junior - the Sharp Half Pint.

    Rhythmbox
In Episode 1071, Leo said that TWiT would not get the credit for the downloads if one used Podshifter.  A number of listeners who do not use iTunes became concerned that they might be doing Dick and Leo a disservice.  Kevin Kapinos, who uses Rhythmbox on Linux, is one of them.  Leo explained that using other jukebox software is perfectly fine, as long as you use the standard RSS feed from TWiT (which redirects the downloads through podtrac - who tracks the number of downloads).

    Episode 1079

    Mr Excel
Bill Jelen, Mr Excel, dropped by at Gizneyland to leave Dick a copy of his new book Easy-XL, but it’s the Spanish version!  The only thing that Dick understands is the pie chart he drew.

    Loss of Laptops
Jan Reesman of Beverly Hills (even though she’s moved) and Cats and Dogs 101 heard about the recent losses in the Laporte family – Abby’s MacBook Air and Leo’s Asus Seashell 1201N (Episode 1057) – which occurred during Abby’s 18th birthday party in their house.  Jan wonders if Leo has got Carbonite installed, in which case the records may show the IP address of the location of the laptops when it starts backing up.  Leo has tried all the usual detective work, but to no avail.

    Episode 1078

    The World of Old Episodes
Jeffrey Pinn just cannot get enough of the Daily Giz Wiz, and has gone back to the old episodes from Episode 1.  His world has never been the same again.  Jeffrey however can’t find Episodes 2-50 on the TWiT site.  There are different reasons for that.  Leo used to post a week of episodes in one go, with one web page for the weekly gizwizzes.  A server migration (or something like that) has also caused the disppearance of certain pages.  Although the web pages may not be there, the downloadable mp3 files have always been available.

The best way to get the old DGW episodes is Ludwik Trammer’s Full Feed.

    Episode 1077

    Game Gripper
Josh writes in to tell Leo that he might regret trading in the Droid for the Nexus One (Leo did not), because there is a cool Droid accessory called the Game Gripper pad which slides on to the Droid and allows you to play old Nintendo games on any of the Android game emulators.

    Episode 1076

    The Breville Household
Leo’s Breville Variable Temperature Kettle (Episode 947) turned out to be a defective one, but since then he’s bought a Breville Toaster Oven – the Smart Oven.

    Breville's Smart Oven
    It’s a Scam?
Frustrated Steve C has been trying for years to get a Woot Box of Crap and has never succeeded.  He’s come to the realisation that it doesn’t exist and Woot is just keeping it up as a publicity stunt.  Steve C must have sent the letter before Episode 1072.

    MAD Magazine Clock
Dick’s MAD Magazine Alfred E Neuman clock (Episode 1065) is still on eBay, and the auction will close tomorrow.  It’s for a good cause – Dick’s Gadget Warehouse, which by the way, has had a new lift installed recently.
