Perfect for the man who wants to "take it all off!"

In these days of saving money wherever you can, the Clean Head Trimmer by Conair can help. (I’ve been saving about $20 with each do-it-yourself haircut: $15 for the cut + $5 tip.) That’s provided you’re a guy who likes REALLY short hair, or better yet, no hair at all on top. Clean Head is specifically designed for clean and ultra-close cuts by using angled shaving heads and comfort rollers that guide the shaving foils along the contours of the head. Soft grip sides make it easy to shave in any direction. (There’s no need to use shaving lather.) Included in the kit are three attachment combs - 1/8", 1/4", and 3/8". I use the ¼” attachment comb since I’m not quite ready to shave my head totally bald. Also included is a trimmer attachment for a stubble look, fade cuts and shorter hair if you want to be fancy and have the patience to read how to do those things. The trimmer attachment has a three-position taper control. It ships with a built–in rechargeable battery & recharging stand, as well as a blade guard and cleaning brush. It’s the model # HG300, but it’s easier to remember Clean Head Trimmer by Conair. It’s about $40. It’s very new, so do a web search for the best price. There's a lot more info at the I Know Heads website. (You can skip the intro screen.)

How about swiping your credit card when you shop online at home!

Back on a Dick’s Gadget Warehouse Friday I talked about a Compaq keyboard that had a credit card slot built right in. The object was to eliminate the hassle of entering the info by hand. You would just swipe your card at home the way you do at a store. (That show is here: www.twit.tv/dgw400) That credit card keyboard never made it to the market place, but now there’s a new device called SmartSwipe that is available. The next time you buy something online with your credit card, you don't have to type the number, just swipe your credit card. It’s from NetSecure. They say their SmartSwipe desktop device lets you shop online while bypassing keyloggers or other malware that could sneak onto your PC. You download the SmartSwipe software and plug the mouse-size card reader into a USB port. (It has great blue lights!) Then next time you shop, click the SmartSwipe button inside Internet Explorer when you're ready to make a purchase. Then you swipe your credit card. The company says that SmartSwipe uses Dynamic SSL to encrypt your card data before it reaches your PC, and then inserts the information into the proper fields in the site's shopping cart. It works with thousands of e-tailers from Amazon to Zappos, and functions in Internet Explorer 6 or 7. Support for IE8 and Firefox is in the works. There are software updates in the works that will enhance the number of fields that SmartSwipe will automatically fill in. This device is available now in Canada and should be in US markets soon. The company says it will retail at about $80 US. It’s $90 Canadian at

Save water, but a high powered shower!

Oxgenics Evolution Shower Head. By mixing water with air you feel a full powerful shower spray while cutting water usage by about 30%. At the Hardware Show this company had a regular showerhead shooting water into a tank, and one of their Oxgenics Evolution Shower Heads doing the same thing. Both sprays were powerful, but you can see by the water meters that the Evolution unit was using a lot less water. The company says it saves about 30% when compared to a regular showerhead. A neat feature is a pushbutton to change to your choice of the four invigorating spray patterns. The showerhead itself lets you set the 360° rotating face to a vertical or horizontal spray. This is great for arthritic hands, the elderly and children. It’s under $65. It should sell for a lot less when it reaches the big box stores.

And One Seat For All -- adults & toddlers.

When it’s time to ‘potty train’ a toddler, folks often buy an add-on small sized toilet set that has to be put on & taken off each time it’s used. Early Choices is a new toilet training tool that makes that chore disappear. It incorporates two seat sizes – adult & child into one convenient device. The smaller child seat clips into the lid when not in use so it’s totally out of the way. And since it’s part of the original seat, you don’t need to find a place to store it when the baby doesn’t need it. It disconnects quickly when the child grows up. A nice feature of the Early Choice is that it’s very easy to clean. You can disassemble the seat(s) with their patented TWIST-N-PULL hinge pins. It takes just a few seconds to remove them. This is a brand new item and it’s not in the market place just yet. (End of May). But you can sign up to be notified when it actually available by going to the company’s website. Under $30

Where did that *&^%ing Remote Control Go?

You’ve probably said something like that more than once when the TV remote you were just using, vanishes! Here’s a perfect solution. Remote Buddy holds four remote controls and has a place for your drink. But this device has a nice twist. If you misplace one of the four remotes push the color button from the empty pocket and your remote beeps so you can find it quickly. Just stick the color-coded receiver to the back of the remote and Remote Buddy keeps track of it up to about 30 feet. It ships with a drink holder that can be clipped to the right or the left side of the Remote Battery. It also includes 5 batteries; one for the main console and one for each of the remotes. Under $60

I don't how how long the sale will last, but First Street has the Remote Buddy on sale for $39.95. The link is: http://www.firststreetonline.com/Home+Solutions/Cleaning+Organizing/Remote+Buddy.axd?cid=477
