    Something new to zip!

Do you love listening to your MP3 tunes as you work out, but hate getting the earbud wires tangled? There’s something about earbud wires that seem to catch on just about anything if you’re using them on the move. But now Zipbuds offer a clever solution. These earbuds incorporate a tangle-resistant, zipper-integrated, braided nylon cable. So you put them on like any regular pair of earbuds, but then you “zip up” the cable as far as you like. Then you have one comfortable cable, not two sets of wires coming from your music player. Zipbud's integrated cabling is ultra flexible and ultra light with its "Vertebrae" zipper design. Their patented centralized acoustic ventilation generates nicely detailed sound and minimizes THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). Custom angled ear tips ensure a snug fit. You get 3 different sized sets for customizing the fit.
But wait, there's more!  Zipbuds come in a variety of colors too. $39.99

Panther Vision comes up with a new, nicely improved version of their LED glasses.

I love my Panther Vision LED lighted reading glasses. They’re great for working on projects in dark corners, or under furniture. Or for when the lights go out. Well now they have a new version called LightSpecs. Panther Vision says these are the most durable and brightest lighted reading glasses available! I can vouch for the fact that they are indeed bright, and they do feel sturdy and well made. Since you wear them exactly the same way you wear regular glasses, they shine lots of ultra bright light where ever you look. You can read or work in bed without disturbing your partner -- repair small parts or build a model -- great for sewing, crafts or home improvement projects. And your won’t disturb your seatmate when traveling by plane, train, bus or car. Unlike the earlier version glasses where the battery compartment and LED light was added to the outside of the frame, this new version has the two ultra-bright LED’s hidden inside the eyeglass temples. Really nice! LightSpecs are available in diopters from 1.00 to 3.00 in .25 increments so you can get the EXACT magnification needed. The company says you can expect 50+ hours of battery life. Yes, batteries ARE included, and they’re easily replaceable with no tools needed. Prices range from $24.99 to $29.99. One website sells them for $24.99, and offers free shipping over $25! That annoys me! For the penny, they won't ship them for free!? Okay, I’m not mentioning their website here! Do a web search for the lowest price. And if you see similar lighted glasses from Foster Grant, it’s okay, they’re licensed from Panther Vision.

You've heard of "road rage". But have you heard of "wrap rage"?

Don’t you hate trying to open those sealed plastic packages with the edges that seem like they’re welded together? OpenIt! is a big help. We reported on the first version a couple of years ago, but now there’s a new, improved version. The original was a four-in-one and the newer one is a five-in-one. OpenIt! features a set of incredibly sharp blades that will cut through the toughest plastic packaging. The company says it will cut like a hot knife through butter. I don’t quite agree with that, but it sure will make your life easier!  Its recessed blade design protects your hand from plastic "shards" as you cut. There’s also a built in retractable utility knife to slice open CDs, DVD’s, and boxes. (But use the blade with care. It is not replicable.) And once you get the kid’s toy out the plastic tomb, you can open the battery compartments with the concealed double-sided screwdriver – slot and Philips. You can even crack open a cold beer with the built-in bottle opener. That’s the newest addition. But although you can probably live without that, the whole design is new.  It’s smaller and easier to grasp. My estimate is that it’s about 20% smaller than the original. And now the hidden screwdriver is removable. In the older model, it folded out and you had to use the whole device to turn a screw, which was a bit awkward at times. The cardboard back on old packaging used to be scored for easy removal, but it’s not on the new package. But someone told me to squeeze the package to pop it open. Price is about the same, anyway from $10.99 to $12.99. The new one is the 5-in-1.  It's also at Bed Bath and Beyond,Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Walgreens, and Kroger as well as Amazon.com. At the company website, the older 4-in-1 is on sale - 2 for $14.99.

Wave your hand and get a paper towel cut to the exact length you want.

The CLEANCut Touchless Paper Towel Dispenser just might change the way you think about paper towel dispensing forever. This device is a sanitary, no-touch paper towel dispenser that uses any brand of store-bought paper towel. Its clever operation uses LED Breaking Beam Technology and a self sharpening blade to cut paper towels to any length - regardless of the perforation. Save money by using the length you need, keep your family healthy by not spreading germs, and keep your counter clutter free! The CLEANCut Dispenser operates on a low voltage power adapter that plugs into a standard 120V outlet. It’s designed for under-cabinet mounting; installation instructions are included. Retail pricing is between $139.95 and $159.95. It’s available in Black, White, and Stainless Steel colors. Retailers Brookstone, Hammacher Schlemmer, Chefs Catalog and Amazon have the product available online. And it’s available at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I shot a video using this device at a trade show this past summer. And there's a demo at the company website.

Don't you hate it when you wants seconds and the gravy is cold.

Perfect with the holidays coming up. The Deni Gravy/Syrup Warmer is a two-piece system. There’s a ceramic gravy boat and and electric ceramic warmer to  keep gravy, Hollandaise or sauces hot and flavorful at the table. Prepare sauces ahead of time and keep toppings at the perfect serving temperature. The cord at the back of the unit detaches for tabletop serving. Now this device is a warmer, so you can’t heat cold gravy in it, but it will keep heated gravy warm. Even unplugged it keeps gravy at a serving temperature for up to 30 minutes. So second servings aren't a problem when you have this server to eliminate microwave warm-ups. This duo is also ideal for serving hot syrup at the breakfast table and hot fudge, caramel or butterscotch dessert toppings. It has its own on/off illuminated switch and holds 18 oz. There’s a version with a white pitcher and white warmer base (the model I showed on the air) and there’s a black & stainless steel model. Under $25, under $30 for the stainless steel model. I did a quick web search and this item sells for anywhere from about $15 to $30, so be sure to price shop if you’re interested in buying one.
