Thanks to our wonderful Patreon supporters The Giz Wiz Show not only continues, but is well into its 2nd year of independent production. If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page:  http://www.gizwiz.tv/  You can also contribute just once via the PayPal link that's there too. And thank you! Our show wouldn't exist without our viewer's support.

And now onto this week's great gadget get-together! More inventive gadgets from Interbike, the huge show in Las Vegas! Starting with Orp, the world’s first combination dual-tone bike horn & beacon light.

The company says ORP is the world’s first combination dual-tone bike horn & beacon light. It's built to make you more visible by making you hearable. Orp combines a dual-decibel horn and front beacon light in a small, light, weatherproof package. Mounting is a breeze with Orp's integral strap. Press Orp's Wail Tail up to warn pedestrians and fellow cyclists with the 76dB friendly sound. Press down for Orp's 96dB Loud sound for cars and traffic. In addition, Orp's LED's fire every time the horn is actuated, so you can be seen and heard. A built-in rechargeable battery is recharged via USB. $65. There's a $15 optional remote control for those who don't want to operate ORP without taking their hands off the handlebars. It's available in colors too.

Make sure you're seen on the road or even off the road.

The Lumos Lighted Helmet features super bright white LEDs in the front and super bright red LEDs in the rear to provide over 80 lumens of illumination. This should ensure that you will stand out on the road. Once charged, the company says the battery lasts approximately 3 hours when the lights are on solid mode or 6 hours on blinking mode. The helmet takes approximately 2 hours to charge. But wait, there's more! For the turn signals, (they advice you should always use hand signals) but then there are amber blinking LED turn signals you can use as a supplement. There's a companion app which allows users to configure brake light preferences, as well as monitor battery life. Included with the helmet is one normal remote and one extended-buttons remote for the turn signals, as well as a remote mount and charging cable. The Lumos will retail for between $149 & $179.00. As of 10/21/16 it was $149.00 for a preorder on the company website:

Speaking of bike helmets, meet CrazeeHeads.

The idea of CrazeeHeads is to make it fun to wear a bike helmet. Chad's Crappy Corner & Another 'Cheap Car' Gadget, His Theme For October.

It's the second week of Chad's theme for October, as picked by our loyal Patreon producers, “cheap car gadgets”. Chad's pick this week is the Amazon

Blazing LED Auto Emergency Multifunction Tool, LED Flashlight

Here's what Amazon says about it: This multifunction tool, LED flashlight is perfect for most emergencies and has 4 functions: Flashlight, beacon light, belt cutter & emergency hammer. Flashlight: Super bright LED and low consumption, beacon light: With a magnetic base, can be attached firmly to any iron objects including car roof. Powerful long lasting flashlight makes the auto emergency multifunction tool, LED flashlight perfect for checking engine trouble. Size: 7.5" long 3" wide, runs on 2 AA batteries (included with this purchase) $7.99

http://amzn.to/2dusrBK

And Chad's take? Chad thought this was a very good device to have in the car. The flashing beacon light will get attention, and help warn other that your car is stopped. The belt cutter is critical if you're seat belt won't open. Also very important is the emergency hammer. As Chad pointed out, you cannot easily break a car window to escape. You need a pointed device to do the job, which this has. Chad also liked the magnetic base, and the flashlight. All in all Chat thought it's a worthwhile gadget for under $8.00 (as of 10/11/16)

Dick's Gadget Warehouse & How to Submit Your Viewer Video.

Here's another viewer video with a gadget that might end up in Darryl's gadget warehouse. It's something we showed very recently on The Giz Wiz.

Hi Dick and Chad,

After seeing episode 1588 I was very excited to purchase the Pawaboo cat toy for my cats. I immediately purchased it from Amazon excited how they might react to it. The video was cut together from a Facebook livestream I made of two of my cats getting acquainted with the new toy.

The results weren't exactly what I expected.

We’re looking for more Viewer Videos!

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show, so here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:

I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.-

I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.-

My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.-

My Favorite Gadget of All Time: Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.-

Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll a tiny amount of fame (hopefully), an autographed MAD magazine and a 35-year-old Alfred E. Neuman picture. So that's one more (so-so) reason to send in your video! IMPORTANT: We'll just shower you with praise for your video if you live outside the US or Canada since we can't afford to send stuff outside of those two places. (Thanks for understanding.)

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv

Letter of the week:

Jared emailed us with info a very interesting gadget indeed! Check out the link in his email if you magnetic gadgets! Here's his email:

Jared: magnet gadget

I saw this on reddit a little while ago.

Its a tool, used by welders. Supposed to make welding and holding metals together easier. But I just think they're amazing.

Its a super strong, little magnet device. But, you can turn the magnet ability on and off with a knob. They make many sizes and shapes to hold items together.

Looking at getting one of the keychain sized ones. Hope you enjoy.
