Show #1883 Week of May 12th 2021 Independent Show 358

AMAZING!! We're now in year 17 of The Giz Wiz Show!

(The first Giz Wiz Show – called The Daily Giz Wiz back then – was February 20th 2006!) If it wasn't for our loyal supporters, the Giz Wiz Show would be gone. If you'd like to support OMGchad & DickDe in our independent venture (we pay for everything ourselves, including travel) just click the Patreon link at the top of our show web page: http://www.gizwiz.tv/

Whoa, The Giz Wiz Attends A Second Live Event! It's the Time To Play Magazine Spring Preview!

The Giz Wiz Gets To Build A Bear & It's Great Fun!

Okay, I've heard of Build A Bear, but I never actually knew how the process worked. But now I've built my own Build A Bear. It's really amazing to see how many steps are involved. Chad, who has been a Build A Bear location in person said that there are more steps than the ones I did in my video on this week's show. I'm sure the folks at BAB had to shorten the process so they could do it for more people in the few hours the press event was open. But I'm sure kids will love this, probably the more steps, the better! I also learned, Build A Bear is way more than stuffed bears. I visited their website and there are dozens of stuffed animals and a lot more there. As someone in the chatroom said as we were recording the show, “You have to be doing something right since they've been in business now for 25 years!” Yep, that's even longer than the Giz Wiz Show. Our video and a link to the company website is below. The video is also on this week's show.

Fun With Foam!

We got to play with two new foam producing gadgets. First was the Fömilator which can fire streams of thick, fluffy foam up to 15 feet! Just pour foam concentrate into the Fömilator reservoir, fill it with water and you're ready to go! To prime the blaster just push the trigger and watch as it fills up with foam, then pump to blast! Package includes 1 Fömilator and 4 oz bottle of non-toxic and tear free formula foam concentrate. $14.95 Target

But wait, there's more!    Want a LOT more foam? Fömalanche makes piles and piles of light, airy foam that's perfect to run through, jump in and toss in the air. The company says Fömalanche creates enough foam to fill up 5 pick up trucks in 25 minutes. Just add the non-toxic and tear free formula foam concentrate and water to the reservoir and turn the machine on! Features handle for easy portability and storage. Package includes 1 Fömalanche machine and 3.3 ounce packets of foam concentrate for hours and hours of fun. Requires 6 DD batteries, Not included. Ages 5Y+. --- You can add in adults too, because I think this is great fun.

Meet The UltraPower Battle Game.

The last game we played at TTPM event was the UltraPower Battle Game. I thought it was a bit strange that it has “Power” in the name, because there's no charging involved and no batteries needed to play. Your finger in the power in this game. Here's a bit of info from the company: Action fun indoors or outdoors. Expand Your Mind in a fast paced and fun game with over 100 Power Tokens and 72 Battle Bands to collect! Includes 2 Battle Bands with Power Dial, 12 UltraPower Tokens and Battle Game Instructions. Designed for 2 or more players ages 5 and up. – You'll see us demo this on this week's show. On 5/12/22 the lowest price I could find was $17.99 for a set of 2 bands.

Chad's Crappy Corner and his second gadget for his new May Cheap Gadget Theme.

Chad's Cheap Gadget Theme For May, picked by our loyal Patreon is: “Cheap Computer Gadgets”! Chad's second cheap computer gadget is The Newmowa 60 LED High Power Rechargeable Clip Fill Video Light.

Here's some info from Amazon: This selfie light has two kinds of clip: a front clip and back clip. With the front clip, the light can be adjusted 90 degrees and the mobile phone lens can be fixed to the lens fixing hole on the front clip for use. When using the back clip, the light can be fixed on the back of the mobile phone. The selfie light has 3 Light Modes (Bright White, Bright White + Warm Yellow, Warm Yellow). Built in 60 LED lighting beads to solve the problem of light, improve the quality of night photography. Enjoy your selfies no matter it is indoor or outdoor, daytime or at night.

And Chad's take? Chad liked this Video Light a lot. Most unusual is that it can be changed via Micro USB or USB-C. (It comes with a Micro USB cable only.) He liked all the ways it can be attached to a phone. It's lightweight but offers a lot of adjustable light output from 60 LED's. And it's under $30.00. You'll see Chad do a complete demo of this light in this Giz Wiz Show.

Dick’s Gadget Warehouse & How To Submit Your Video To Win An Autographed Copy of MAD Magazine.

Our email of the week is from Michael Prine who has sent us fun videos before.

He writes:

Here is the link to another of my Y2K devices that I have sitting around. It is a hand power flashlight. No batteries required and unlike some of the ones you have tried, it works. It doesn't put out a lot of light and your hand gets tired pretty quickly but thought I would share it.

There are still a lot of hand cranked flashlights around but I think the winding handle type is far easier to use. And if you buy one, it should have a battery to store extra power as you crank.

We’d love to include your video in an upcoming Giz Wiz Show! Here's what we're looking for! Your home shot video – 2 to 3 minutes long, in any of the following categories:
I bought a piece of crap: Did you buy something you ended up hating? We won't get you a refund, but we might be able to give a platform to vent your disappointment. Remember, "family friendly" language applies.
-
I invented this! Did you invent something? (Or did a friend or relative invent something.) We can't market it for you, but we can help get the word out. Show us what it is, and how it works. Even if it's a prototype, you can get our (and the audience) reactions. No professional ads please.
-
My Gadget Warehouse: Okay, so you don't have a warehouse. It doesn't matter. Just tell us about your favorite old gadget(s). When and where you bought it, and why you're still hanging on to it.
-
My Favorite Gadget (favorite old, or favorite new): Show us what it is, tell us what it does and why you love, or loved it! It can be a new gadget you just bought too.
-
Post them on YouTube and send us the link! We'll do the rest. (Or possibly nothing, but that's unlikely.) Remember, videos should be just 2 to 3 minutes long! Low production value is fine, but we should be able to hear you and see you! If we select and show your video on The Giz Wiz you’ll earn a tiny amount of fame (hopefully). And if you live in the US, you'll also get an autographed 38+ year old Alfred E. Neuman picture and a MAD surprise (most likely the current issue of MAD.) But no matter where you live outside of US, I can autograph an Alfred E. Neuman photo to you, scan it & email you a high res copy if we show your video. Just print it out, frame it, or just hang it up and no one will know it's a copy. We've tested it out and fans say they look terrific! If you submitting warehouse videos for a second, third time, etc., you'll get the current issue of MAD as a thank you.

All show submissions go to mail@gizwiz.tv
